He will but on his terms , plenty of money and he runs the show , not the CB, not the sponsor.

the CB exist to give him money and logistics, other than that they don’t Exist

the players exist to provide success, not willing to do what is needed, your cut.

if he takes the job he will turn tipp into champions again, the CB need to just get out of his way

Jurgen Klopp has a better chance of getting it than Cahill I heard

For a fella who failed to get the second best team in the country out of munster I doubt if he's in a position to be laying down the law to anyone. Anyway he got his offer of the job before and turned it down so there's no way he'll be offered it again.

After 2018 and the knife in the back he probably don’t want it.

You seem to be in a 2018 time warp!

He was offered the goddamn job last year and turned it down! You expect the County board to go crawling to him.

The job should go to the best man available, whether that's Cahill or somebody else.

All this talk of somebody being slighted or not getting the chance because they rejected it before is just nonsense.

This isn't **** EastEnders, it's hurling. Select the candidate you most believe to bring success and get on with the **** thing.

Fired by phone is tough. Think the county board need a HR department. Woeful sensitivity. Apparently, from what I've heard, they sat through the presentation knowing they'd already someone put in place. Why do that like? Just man up to the situation and be honest.

"I am extremely disappointed with the decision of the executive committee of Tipperary GAA regarding my position as Tipperary senior hurling manager.

"The terms of reference I was given for my 3 year term was stated clearly by the Executive Committee at the Tipperary convention in December 2021 where it was stated that Tipperary were entering a transition and a rebuilding period. The manager will need time to add new players to the panel and patience was urged for this rebuild.

"I presented a detailed presentation to the 15 person Executive yesterday evening (Wednesday), this encompassed my review of 2022 and my plans for 2023. I have since been informed by the County Board that I am no longer in the position of Tipperary senior hurling manager for the coming years.

"I am an honourable and a very committed Tipperary man, with an experienced management career, who has always giving my heart and soul to Tipperary hurling, both as a player and manager. I took on this task in good faith.

"Tipperary hurling will always be in my heart and I wish all involved the best of luck as I again become a passionate supporter of our great county team," a clearly hurting Bonner said.

Of course, he's hurt. It will take a lot for him to get over this. Has to be said, the majority of "Tipp supporters" did nothing but kick him when he was in the job, not go to games, and now they're pissing on his grave.

Best wishes to Barry Heffernan in his recovery. Picked up an ACL injury in the north final.

Sadly the league is a joke. A worthless trophy made all the more so by their shambles of a performance in the championship.

If the County Board have an announcement to make, they better make it Sunday morning. There's a big distraction coming Sunday afternoon. That will take some of the media heat and scrutiny off it.

A very classy statement from your outgoing manager.

Not a hope in hell. Cahill/bevans turned down the job last year. There would be anarchy if the county board were seen to go crawling to anyone to come and manage Tipperary.

if the tipp CB have sacked bonnar and have no replacement lined up than that would be outrageous.

one would assume the CB are not inept and since the cork game people have been sounded out and the next manager is already decided with an announcement when the dust settles

if on the other hand the CB have no one lined up or worse have an outsider lined up we may as well write off the next decade

Liam Cahill steps down as Waterford senior hurling manager.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,623 ✭✭✭realdanbreen

Don't know why he would do that because he certainly won't be getting the Tipp job!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,309 ✭✭✭evolvingtipperary101

That remains to be seen. And after the last fiasco, I'll wait for an official announcement. But... a lot of heads are telling me different...

Apparently, Monday night there will be a new manager announced. They'd be better off to get it out there before the final.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,623 ✭✭✭realdanbreen

So let me get this straight, cahill doesn't come to tipps aid in their hour of need, stays with Waterford because he thinks they have a better chance of winning. Waterford flop and now need him more than ever so he decides to ditch them and hook up with Tipp! No I'm pretty certain the last thing Tipp need now is this sort of ****.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,975 ✭✭✭✭Mantis Toboggan

Cahill was with Waterford at the time so I don't blame for staying with them. Now he's available and Tipp want him so let's get the deal done. Great track record, has passion, drive & experience needed for the job. He's our best bet to get back competitive.

What track record, apart from under age! He failed to get Waterford who the experts said were the second best team in the land out of munster!

I think ye will find that between the Limerick and Cork game Cahill and his Donegal friend ran that Waterford team into the ground. So when the knockout game versus Cork came that Waterford team were flat as a pancake due to being overtrained the previous week's. When the waterford county board sought feedback from the players their was some criticism of the overtraining. Cahill did not like this. However even the most inept of managers should know not to overtrain a team in the week of a big game. Be careful what ye wish for. He did a good job with Waterford but after this summer he was a spent force. On another note it won't matter for tipp who the manager is as the players are just not their to win an all Ireland.
