Fyne Audio F302 on Clearance

Hi Folks,

It would seem that the Fyne Audio F302 are too good a speaker to pass up at the price you are clearing them at. I currently use a pair of Q Acoustics Q3020i that I bought from you some time ago. They are fine but the F302's get absolutely sterling reviews so I'm mulling a potential purchase. However, reading reviews they state that careful matching is needed to properly enjoy the experience, so I'm here for some advice on that.

Currently I have the following in my bedroom/office which I use during the day:

Yamaha A-S501 (bought from yourselves and I love it)

Yamaha CD-NT670D

Q Acoustics Q3020i

The 302's would be too much for the current space so ideally they'd have to live downstairs. However currently downstairs I have a:

Teac CR-L600 cd-receiver

Ideally I'd have the A-S501 downstairs but there are size constraints in relation to full sized AV equipment. I may look to swap the Teac unit out for something else in the future but currently the Teac is powering a pair of bookshelf speakers. Do you think it'd provide any sort of reasonable experience with the 302's or it'd be hopelessly out of its depth?

I think the Teac might struggle a little with the F302s - they are a little smaller as floorstanders but you would be better driving them with the Yamaha. It will still give a decent sound but you wouldn't be running them at their full potential with the Teac! Certainly it will be a good stop gap though and you'll hear the upgrade if you do change the amp down the line.

Thanks for the reply. I don't plan on the Teac being there long, it really is just a stop gap measure. Once it sounds reasonably OK, I can live with that for a short while.

What sort of warranty do the speakers come with and can you or someone else there pop me across a PM to get my details later today.

The Fyne F302 come with their manufacturers warranty which is 7 years:

"3. All passive loudspeakers are guaranteed for a period of 7 years from the date of purchase from an authorised Fyne Audio Limited dealer. This warranty is subject to the absence or evidence of misuse, overload, or accidental damage, applies only to the original registered owner, it is non transferable, and covers only genuine Fyne Audio Limited products with the original undamaged serial number and proof of purchase"

Guys,

sorry to butt in but that TEAC CR-L600 is actually a super amp, its just a bit smaller than normal! The look great and sounded really well ( I wish TEAC made something as good and stylish today!)

Also the F302 are pretty efficient at 90DB - I know that a really good amp will get the best out of the F302, but the Teac will work well and TBH I would probably prefer the CR-L600 over lots of current budget amps..

I'll crawl back into my dark space now...

Hey John,

Many thanks for that. It's good to know it won't be a sub-par experience for the time it's used with the F302s. Unfortunately I can't quite fit a full size amp into the spaces on the TV cabinet, so the Teac will have to suffice until I find something suitable. I agree in relation to their current line-up. While there's some great stuff, there's a bit of a gap in their range.

Speakers arrived today. Haven't had a chance to listen to them yet and probably won't until tomorrow morning. I know the placement isn't ideal!

Give them a week or two to really warm up and you will hear them sound better and better ever day.
