    Hi there,

would appreciate some advice, my gf and myself are looking at an apartment in the crescent, charlesland that we might want to buy.

It looks great to me, has been upgraded, new boiler and so on but we are not sure since a lot of people have mentioned that these buildings were thrown up during the celtic tiger, does anyone have any info on the general area or estate whether or not this would be a good place to buy?

We would greatly appreciate any info!

Thanks a lot, have a great week everyone. :)

Build quality in Charlesland in my opinion (having worked in many homes there) was very poor and were “thrown up”. I doubt you will encounter any structural issues. I observed a lot of corners cut and poor finish.

However many inhabitants at vast expense have renovated and fixed the various issues. It sounds like this is the case in your instance.

I think it would be prudent to get a suitable person to check the property throughly before making an offer.
