Yeah, Currys tend to reduce them when Amazon do. Probably a day or 2 later.

Although they're Prime prices so maybe Currys won't price match.

Nope, it's pretty crap. I've had one for two years and have probably used it twice

I'm giving Border Parcel Motel on Facebook a go for the Fire TV Stick 4k Max.

Already have an account / address with them but they don't give quotes on shipping as it varies by package. According to reviews on Google on Facebook they have reasonable rates. It's my first time using them so theres an element of risk but we'll see.

The firestick lites are also available on Amazon Germany for €12.99. So you could use mailboxde or mygermany to ship them. If ordering a few items the shipping would bring the overall individual prices down.

think you have to have the German prime to get those

Never heard of them actually, do you know if you have to pay customs etc with them?

Looking at the kids Fire HD tablet, but only delivers to UK😣

What’s the difference between the 4k max or the cube? Looking to buy a second stick

No customs as they bring it over the border I presume and post from within ireland. Theres no negative reviews on their Facebook page or on the Google business listing that comes up also.

Someone who mentioned them said they ordered a lot of packages and never had a problem.

On the terms and conditions on their website I think they'll only cover upto 100 euro or pounds in the event of loss so I wouldn't be ordering anything too expensive through them.

The cube is more powerful if I remember correctly. If you plan on using it for gaming it might be worth the upgrade but if not I reckon the 4K max is sufficient.

Amazon.de has 20% off on warehouse deals

Also, let me sign up for prime for 30 days free trial....which I thought was unusual as they stopped this for Irish customers??

Interestingly other amazon EU sites I tried I could not sign up to Prime?

The main difference between the cube and sticks is that the cube has 8 microphones, so you can walk into the room and ask Alexa to do things. It also has an IR blaster so she can turn on/off the TV, sky box, soundbars etc.

I've set up an "Alexa, goodnight" routine that shuts off the TV, soundbar, box, and all the lights.

But in terms of power you won't notice much over the 4k or max.

You can compare any of the fire TV range here:

Just make sure to view in desktop mode in your phone's browser or even better, use a computer.

I've screenshot the main differences in processing power here:

I posted it first, but ya it worked for me anyhow. Maybe I got the last one!

It hasn't been delivered yet though.

Anyone know how I could get a couple of Power Banks delivered from Amazon?

Great deals on this and this.

Head is wrecked looking at them all evening and most sites ship from China or are old tech on DID etc.

What do people do when buying Power Banks?

    Thanks

I ran into this problem a few weeks, I just bought one from Harvey Norman’s for €50. Has worked well since.

I just bought a mecool km2 with 20% off after trying but failing to buy the cheap fire stick as they won’t ship it here and the international ones are full price.

€185 once the import fee is added. Ideally would like to find something similar under the €150 import fee threshold.

Have you checked on any of the EU amazons? Germany or Italy usually good. But hagglezon might be worth checking..

    Germany €175ish delivered - https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00C2353FU/?th=1

I think banggood is the best bet for power banks these days. Just make sure you select a European warehouse like ES - Spain, CZ - Czech Republic (sometimes actually ships from Germany) and FR - France. Not every model ships from Europe but most do.

I bought a 30,000mah BaseUs 65W PD (power delivery) one and a 57,000mah teclast one. Absolute bricks of things but handy for camping. If you get a usb C to DC plug you can power old laptops over 19V and even some portable projectors with the 65w one.

It uses a chip in the usb to DC apadter to fool it into thinking you're powering a usb c laptop or phone. You can get the usb c to DC adpaters on amazon or AliExpress and there's an assortment of connectors to fit each laptop.

I noticed that prices are now showing in Euro rather than £.

    When did that happen?

Is Amazon automatically doing the conversion now at their rate?

So no more use for Revolut on Amazon purchases?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 10,919 ✭✭✭✭con747

I have never had an Amazon exchange rate cheaper than N26, I always pay in Sterling and always check the difference to be safe. I know some people say the Amazon rate is cheaper but I have never found that with N26. I would imagine Revolut is the same but never used it on Amazon.

still showing sterling prices for me - maybe it's set to euro somewhere in your account settings

Usual issue with import fees on lightning deals. Trying to buy item for £99, fees based on the full price of £180.

Don't they refund these mistakes if you raise it?

Not sure in case of lightning deals, customer service chat were useless in giving a clear answer.
