Look your right but dublin got a soft one in 2011 to win it, it was kerrys time.

Not sure to be honest. I don’t think anyone else would get much better from today’s team though (bar maybe Gavin).

Tactically wise - he’s had two ways of playing. Long to Con or move ball laterally. Others would argue the forwards aren’t there.

Yep the ball was there to be won and followed up upon the save, number of times I’ve seen that happen with penos saved and ball loose for the forward to follow up is nothing new, loose ball O’Shea had every right to contest

She handed the award to him before they came to air, a bit awkward.

Ref completely turned a blind eye to O'se kicking a dublin player on the ground. Then he goes on to kick kerry's last 2 scores. Sickener for dublin

Exactly this. He clearly went for the ball. Good keeping but it was never dangerous play.

Cantwell is so so bad. With a fake faux pas saying paidi o se instead of paudie Clifford.

They all laughing like when a school teacher makes a joke then..

Somebody put a shot of adrenaline or something into Dessie Farrell. The man is like father stone

Kerry won't do a Mayo on it now. They will win the final.

Have to agree. It was a 50/50 ball. To pull out would have looked worse. Happens in all field sports. It should be a non-argument

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,142 ✭✭✭M three

Interviewer didnt even ask jack o'connor about the o'se dangerous play, presenters dont even mention o'se shouldnt have been on the field when they were fawning over his free kick.

Rte really turning a blind eye to dangerous play, they havent even shown the incident again cos they know it looks bad.

Someway to win a game and what composure by O Shea to kick that over in front of Hill 16

Crazy to think 2 years in a row now for Dublin not into an All Ireland Final. Will Dessie walk ?. Playing Division 2 in the league could be a little farcical but they gave themselves too blame for that

Kerry will be big favourites for the final but Galway won't be under too much pressure and in massive bonus territory. Kerry by 5 with Galway staying in the game til about the 65th Min

Tight match. Dean Rocks missed free was massive looking back. Really should have scored it. He'll have to slash the Dean Rock Ultimate Free Taking Masterclass Course ©️ to 200 euro now.

Probably because it wasn't classified as dangerous play.

State of this. If that’s a red card go off and play a non contact sport ffs

You have a serious problem with women. Joanne, Ursula Jacob.

    Same shite, different woman.

There's after being a cracking match and you're waiting in the long grass to find something Joanne says that you can make a boards post out of.

    Get a life.

That was an entertaining game of football, great comeback from the Dubs. The free at the end was never a a foul, not a hope.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,946 ✭✭✭MayoAreMagic

He got to the ball first, keeper saved his effort. He couldnt really do much about the follow through but the keeper made way more of it to run down the clock, the same way he did before the penalty. You might argue a yellow card, but then comerford probably deserved one too. Similarly, adrian spillane was booked for simply standing his ground, dublin get a point from it. Furthermore, cormac costello deserved a red for his dangerous late hit. Dublin got a point when the guy was stretched out on the ground. You cant just pick one thing in isolation.

Kerry were the better team and deserved to win.

Though Kerry were more than a match for Dublin in the cynicism stakes.

They did play much the better football though.

Two big absolute farcical failures on behalf of the officials. A referee and officials that can’t manage keeping time with multiple watches. Knocking 45 seconds off the first half..it’s not a judgement call, it’s just reading and managing time.

and an absolutely blatant 100% red card incident that occurs right smack bang in the middle of the goal with the clearest of views… a red card 100%, actual assault, dropping a knee on someone’s head as they are horizontal on the deck…. the free is awarded so foul is recognised but no red ? And said offender who remains erroneously on the pitch scores the winning point…Bizarreness.

ref needs to go back to refereeing school.. im guessing he has ample time judging by his Twitter, supporting this cause, that cause and a million and one photos, hashtags and plethora of wokeisims at a million and one locations.

GAA… while of amateur ethos’s has proven itself to go from amateur in its running to consistently amateurish and incompetent in its activity’s on and off the pitch…failing both players and supporters alike… players who train themselves hours and hours per week, every week deserve better and so do ‘genuine’ supporters… who want any time that any team crosses the line and the whistle goes, the game is played and refereed in a fair, consistent and accurate manner and spirit… today fell fûckin light years short.. yet again thanks to Gough & co.

great day for Kerry, well done, genuinely well done, but as a sport and spectacle thanks to Gough and the men in black.. .. hmmmmm poxy.

Do you think if you keep mentioning it every 2 minutes on this thread the ref will change his mind?

RTÉ are a glorified version of Terrace Talk when the Yerras are playing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,946 ✭✭✭MayoAreMagic

Both were fouls. Dublin defender ended up on the wrong side and left their hand in on both occasions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,750 ✭✭✭Dave0301

Actual assault...wait, are we rehashing that Jon Small tackle from last summer already!?

if You are paying attention you will see we are discussing a game we just watched ;). Ohh and you are engaging I. Whatabouttery, ahhhh ;)

Assault! Dear lord. The tears are tasty today!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,851 ✭✭✭✭siblers

O'Se was 100% in the right to pull on that ball. Anyone who thinks it was a red needs to find a different sport to watch. I can see why some may think it was a yellow but the ball was loose and the keeper wasn't in possession so he had every right to pull on it.

The keeper was acting the prick anyway, he wasn't injured from the contact from O'Se

Thought the free at the end was a bit soft. Was hoping for extra time because it was entertaining stuff.

Said yesterday that I felt Dublin were ponderous going forward without Con and that was evident today, I think, especially in the first half. They created chances but some of their shooting was awful. Lots of passengers in that forward line who are too afraid to take on a shot even when in scoring positions. Lots of recycling the ball instead of taking responsibility. Con is just a very direct player in comparison. They probably would have won the game if he'd been on the field.

Have to say, Kerry look slick when they're winning game by 15 points, but they do get the scuts when any kind of pressure is applied. They should have too much for Galway nonetheless, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion by any means.
