Hi there. I'm planning on making a slatted wooden fence for our back garden. Something like the pic below in appearance. Hardwoods or cedar would cost me a fortune, so I'm wondering if I could use budget-friendly planed white deal battens with some sort of chemical protection and stain. Is this doable?
