  • Posts: 24,207 ✭✭✭✭ Riley Helpless Grapevine

Why didn’t you buy a house long ago when it was easier?

This story is going to get more common.

Thing is that this was always going to happen when you rented all your life and you need to plan for it.

Many listeners of her generation will label her a failure as she 'rents'

A generation of people have been utterly fcjd over by this country a joke.

A guy I know had pscho wife he literally had to go to mental home for a year. Lost house kids turned against him. She never 3orked a day in her life he worked 70 hours a week. He still has to pay her each month. He has rebuilt his life and is happy with a new partner but he was close to taking his life at one stage. A joke as I said

A local TD no matter what they say can't pull a 4 bed out of their arse pocket for you.

It’s shortly to become a major problem. Lots of new places built for Big Tech companies to house their employees relatively short term, nothing for anyone else.

The one upside is that when this lady needs a nursing home, the Fair Deal scheme will ensure she'll get much the same services and won't have to contribute much. Whereas house and business? owners have to cough up a fair bit of their assets to cross subsidise.
