You know when you pay a solicitor there's client confidentiality

I know it's a loaded kind of a question but think it's straightforward

Health related will be recorded in your file and might read later by another doctor or else...

Healthwise they should have systems in place in the practice that protect your information but other doctors and some staff will be able to see it.

If it is not health related then it depends on what it is. There are some things (i.e. child protection issues) that they are obliged to report and really if it is something like that then you should be reporting it also.

If it isn't something like that and might be something you want kept off a file (e.g. something you don't want a spouse to find out) then doctor patient privilege applies.
