Got on of these installed and its great except for one thing - You can only schedule heat to come on 3 times @ day!

Can't understand how something so modern & technical can be so limited(taking into account that the old timer could be set every 15 mins, 24/7)

Does anyone know of a way to schedule the heat more than 3 times @ day?

Just wondering if anyone has had recent dealings with Climote. I received a text from the installer giving me a provisional appointment for the next day. Eventually, just before 5 I get a text saying that he couldn't make it to me as he was held up at his last job of the day. Frustrating, but there you go. He then texted, asking if an appointment 3 days later would be okay. Surely, in such a scenario, wouldn't the installer be (at least morally) obliged to squeeze you in the next day, with other customers moved back one slot? I suppose, after waiting 3 months since renewing my contract with SSE (and taking up the offer of a free Climote), another 3 days isn't that much to wait, I suppose.

Not recently but I did have one installed a few years back. There was no issue and it always worked perfect. However, I since had the heating upgraded and zoned so I had to have an electrician come in to rewire the Climote. He said the original install was a very rough job, loose connections etc. and took him a while to figure out the installer's work, just messy. The work was then inspected by SEAI for a heating controls grant, and turns out the wrong fuse was on the unit. SEAI guy would have failed it only I had a few spare fuses lying around and he was able to change it himself.

Never had any issues since though, the hub works perfectly and does exactly what I'd like heating wise. The installers are subcontracted, can't remember the name of the company. I'm sure it wouldn't be unusual to have to reschedule a job. Unfortunately for you - better to only disrupt one person, rather than the knock-on of disrupting everyone else trying to squeeze you in somewhere.

As for the OP wanting to schedule more than 3 times a day... not something I ever tried to do, it's an inefficient way to heat a house, and not good practice... every time you put the boiler on in that scenario, it has to work harder to heat the water from scratch each time. You would be better off keeping the heating on a lower temp for a longer period.
