Ah I see we’re at the stage of portraying men as victims now.

Men are free to walk away from their responsibilities if they so choose.

However, it’s not the same as a woman having a medical procedure, so naturally will be judged differently.

There was a screenshot going around from an leftist on twitter who posted that the judges need to be pull from their homes and executed on the street.

The post remained up despite many many people reporting it to Twitter. In the end the guy deleted his account after his full name, address and occupation began to circulate.

    Good ol mob justice

Making the court so partisan is why people get to freely use nominally disparaging terms like leftist and conservative. It's supposed to be about the law and the Constitution and it's not. It's now whatever people issues some groups have and whether they can get the SC to undo them. Thomas seems to be game for anything, thanks to his very narrow view of the world at this stage and at least 2-3 more could be very easily persuaded to follow him.

They like African Americans as long as they know their place on the Democrat plantation and parrot the views of rich White activists.

As a black person said in reply to him. The progressives either see them as acceptable n18834s or just field n18834s.

Just imagine the anger from many of them if Clarence Thomas was Jewish.

Yes, these kind of issues are inevitable as long as the SC members are political appointees. That link needs to be broken but very difficult to figure out a way to do that. This is not solely a US issue, most countries have an equivalent set up where appointments are politically based.

“The man who lies to himself can be more easily offended than anyone else. You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

I've always known that was the case, but usually they go for "Uncles Toms" instead of N bombs.

Roe and the latter one, Casey were bad laws - denied states to democratically legislate -

Roe, allowed for the barbaric, Late-Term abortion, Partial-Birth abortion, and Gender Selective abortion

Now states whose laws were usurped by Roe, can be implemented, and other states can nuance their laws, in state legislatures and by propositions/referenda.

A dive into the world of : "Its OK when we do it "

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,132 ✭✭✭✭is_that_so

There will be a political aspect but generally it doesn't affect the quality save where countries like Poland are deliberately and actively trying to make up their own judicial system to suit themselves. I think the US problem is down to the fact that it is based off a document that is 250 years old and is open to very wide interpretation depending on where a justice is positioned on that text. More modern constitutions are more explicit and easier to interpret.

Also a dive into a world of posters who think that Twitter is ever a good foundation for any argument. It's just an example of how much of a cesspool Twitter is, full of angry disturbed people all the way along the spectrum.

You've 'seen' these references? Or you've been frantically scouring the darkest corners of the Internet looking for them to back up your 'argumernt'?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,841 ✭✭✭TomTomTim

The only one who's frantic here is you. I saw them all on Twitter, without "frantically scouring" if you must know. This seems to be the new line though, anytime someone comes across anything that makes the left look bad, they get accused of going out of their way to find this stuff.

My favourite SC decision was when they gave half of Oklahoma back to the Indians.

Though like now they were essentially throwing it back to the local legislature, saying this legislation is outside the Court's purview anyway so write laws to deal with it yourself.

    A foundation for an argument?

    Wha?

I posted about something that happened- you want to argue what exactly?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,213 ✭✭✭Mic 1972

it's great that the Supreme Court didn't give in to the mob. That's a victory in itself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,213 ✭✭✭Mic 1972

The type of Americans that are allegedly fleeing to Canada aren't going to be missed. America has nothing to gain from extreme progressive left, as witnessed in the last few years. let them go

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

And now we're at the fantasy 'mob' stage because f*ck women, eh?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,213 ✭✭✭Mic 1972

i'm talking about the protestors who have been threatening to burn the streets as usual, plus didn't an activist try to murder one of the judges a few days ago?

Great to see that rioters and psychopaths didn't win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭Tonesjones

The same heads who said they would leave if Trump won. None did.

Many were celebs who in fact became much more wealthy thanks to Trump tax cuts. They won't mention that bit though

    Absolute flakes.

The United States is a huge country, North America as a whole even bigger if you're taking that as your field of inquiry. Of course you're going to find random individuals who support progressive causes generally but have backward racial attitudes if you go desperately seeking them out. If the guy calling Clarence Thomas the n-word was a prominent Democrat or a NARAL leader it might have some significance...

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

And yet here we are, no streets have been burned. Also, one activist does not a protest make.

Living in a complete fantasy land as per usual and this is more about sticking it to the libs than about women getting medical care they're entitled to. F*ck them, as long as the libs are angry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,213 ✭✭✭Mic 1972

No idea what you are after here. A psychopath caught trying to murder a judge is not something you can swipe under the rug. The call for riots from activists and politician cannot be ignored considering how things went in 2020.

it's great that the Supreme Court didn't give in. Hopefully a sign of things to come

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

No it's absolutely not. But your basis on a 'mob' is one person who was rightfully arrested. And you're also saying activists are calling for riots and yet none have happened.

F*ck women though, as long as the libs are owned. Don't pretend otherwise because your history doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

The racist abuse of thomas should get the perpetrators kicked off twitter permanently. I did lose some respect for the guy mentioning in his SC opinions related to gay rights and contraceptives but not mentioning in the same sentence the decision related to inter-marriage between blacks and whites as that would affect him personally. I think its dangerous when courts become partisan but i think that happens in every court in America.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,213 ✭✭✭Mic 1972

The threat of violence was there and probably still is, so was the potential murderer. Y

The Supreme Court did not give in, this is how to set the example

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,189 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

The Supreme Court did not give in

What are you suggesting might have happened instead? Just because some randomers on the Internet were threatening a 'night of rage' the judges would come out and say oops we made a mistake, Roe v Wade stays after all...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,111 ✭✭✭Christy42

Main violence I have seen is a Rhode island republican attack his opponent at a rally, he has since withdrawn from the race. Makes a change from violence being preferred from elected representatives in places like Minnesota.

Someone also attempted to drive through protestors with a truck

Right now from the left we have 1 racist who nobody has heard of needing to be banned from twitter and some over the top statements on social media. It isn't like the twitter user found was speaking about white life at a major Democrats rally.
