It certainly piqued my interest too, not least because it's a brand new IP from a company who've been killing it lately! But lots of games are being pushed back these days. I'd say this is just in the same boat.

Got my hopes up at the beginning of the capcom event, thought they were gonna announce a dragons dogma sequel, the feckers.

What muppets were saying there's nothing out in 2022 because I'm looking at a potential bankruptcy from videogames.

I only had this evening's showcase on in the background, so maybe I'm wrong here but it seemed like the biggest waste of everyone's time! The developer interviews were self-congratulatory fluff pieces with no real new info that I could hear. They had Pete Hines on for 15 mins and I didn't find out anything new about Redfall or Starfield. Ara is a brand new 4X game out in the next 12 months but again actual information was very thin on the ground. Ditto for Pentiment. Utterly pointless.

Wonder if there will be anymore big games announced or do people reckon that's it?

Sony might have another state of play in August...

There might be a Dragon's Dogma announcement tonight, but I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment. Prime Matter have a couple of biggish IPs, but I don't think they're expected to announce anything new in tomorrow's showcase. Rumours of a Nintendo Direct for the end of June. Then it will likely be all quiet until Sony's next SoP and GamesCom in August. Even then, GamesCom isn't known for loads of announcements.

Anyone remember deep down? that was shown all the way back in 2013 at the announcement of the ps4, I wonder will it ever see the day of light? probably not now I'd imagine.

Yeah, I was excited by that trailer. I don't think it was ever officially cancelled, but it's probably about as likely as Rockstar's Agent at this stage.

When I first saw it I thought it was Dragon's dogma 2.

The Nvidia leak, the hints dropped by Capcom, the celebration video tonight... they all point to at least a remaster, but hopefully a sequel. If not, they are trolling the hell out of us.

Who cares about that. There's a Dragon's Dogma anniversary event on at the same time. Come on Dragon's Dogma 2!!!

As well as FFVII Rebirth (aka part 2 of the remake which will consist of 3 parts in total)

Announced for next winter, so likely be sometime in 2024.

Three games for FF7 Remake is relatively reasonable as I feared they’d expand it into like five or six going by the pace and scope of part one.

But three games still leaves room for an awful lot of Nomura nonsense… and part one was an absolute mess of Nomura nonsense.

3 parts is the right amount, delighted to finally have a release date for part 2. Never played Crisis core so looking forward to the remake of that.

Ok, looking it up, DD was a ps3/360 game that was remastered then for last gen in 2017 called Dark Arisen. I see that's currently on sale in psn, 4 euro down from 25. I take it by the reactions in here it's worth it? Is it kinda like a casual dark souls with party system?

Wait. Is FF7 remake part 2 winter 2023!?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,826 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Yupp and the Crisis Core remake is Winter 2022.

Jesus wept, well back into hibernation i go.

Also, this Ever Crisis for IOS and Android looks.... interesting

Definitely well worth it. The PS360 game had bad framerate issues that are fixed in the remaster. It's not an without issues but I'd give it a very high 8/10. It's a kind of a mix of a western open world but with japanese combat system mentality and the pawn system is a lot of fun. It's very much focused on combat but the combat is excellent. The open world is a lot smaller and condensed than say Skyrim. The Dark Arisen expansion is a huge amount of fun as well and it has some really fun post game stuff. It's not really like Dark Souls, it's probably more closer to Monster Hunter and can be a challenge at times. I'd call it a hidden gem except it sold and reviewed well and a lot of people really like it.

It's also currently available as part of a Capcom Humble Bundle for anyone playing on PC. Comes with Monster Hunter World, a few DMC titles, and some other Capcom stuff.

Edit: It's also less than a fiver on Steam right now.

I think Dark Arisen was given on PS3 Plus if you can dig out the PS3. I did plan on trying it after watching the Netflix series but never did.

Picked up Dark Arisen on psn, added to my backlog but I'm sure we'll play it over the summer.
