Building something smaller than planning permission

    Hi,

We just got planning permission for two story around 60 square metre.

However, the quotes are too expensive for us so considering scaling it back a bit to 54 square metre in the hope we will save a few bob.

If you have to pay the council for what you got in your planning permission and you end up building something smaller what happens?

You might get varying opinions, but as far as I would be concerned, you need to go back for planning (i.e. submit another planning application) to amend/reduce what you have planning permission for.
