Building something smaller than planning permission

We got planning permission for two story extension. Prices coming in are too expensive so going to try and save money by just not going out as much as planning permission allows. So 1.4 metre less. Is that ok? Or do I need planning permission again?

youll 9most likely) need permission again

the first condition of your existing permission is that it shall be carried out in compliance with the drawings and documents submitted... and if you build it 1.4 m narrower then it wont be in compliance with this condition. therefore if you ask the council they will say you need new permission.

you may find a certifier who is willing to accept that its "in substantial compliance" but you will have to look long and hard
