Fast Al's pizza boxes

Make no mistake. As people, we are using more energy and creating more waste, every day.

That is really disappointing re Fast Al's.

Iyer's no longer serve any food on real plates anymore - it's all paper and plastic, now.

No it was first in there in a long time and they actually asked me…. I did have a brief wonder if they’d give me a box I didn’t want but they asked anyway (Oliver plunkett st branch)

The default should be the piece of paper.

Your first mistake is easting in Fast Al's.

Much better to avoid using it altogether, if not necessary.

They used to routinely not use boxes, now they routinely do.

How is that the customers fault?

What's difficult to understand?

Fast Al's used to put pizza slices on pieces of parchment paper as a matter of course. Presumably, if you wanted it in a box, you asked, and got it in a box. The end result was that there was minimal packaging waste.

Now, it seems, they default to putting a single slice in a box. Most customers will take it as it comes and will not ask for it without a box - I would but most won't. The result of this is a shed load of needless packaging waste as evidenced by the pic above.

If you, along with another couple of posters, cannot understand how this is a negative, retrograde move on the part of Fast Al's, then we clearly have an awful long way to go in educating people on waste and sustainability.

I can't believe that this needs to be explained. It's not about what a poster here did or didn't say when ordering a slice. It's about Fast Al's changed packaging policy!
