My missus has a 191 VW passet automatic. Bloody thing has sensors everywhere. Last few days the front right hand sensor is beeping, on and off for no reason and when there is no objects near. Any ideas what causeing this. We are driving to France in a couple of weeks and i dont want to be listening to it while traveling.

Also is it possible to turn off the reverse sensor. I carry bikes on holidays and the bikes affect the sensors.

Have you tried cleaning around the sensor? Dirt can sometimes cause a sensor to go off.

Mine is the same on my golf, the paint seems to be bubbling a bit on mine so I think thats whats causing mine to go off.

If you place your ear close to the sensor, you will hear it clicking (if you have very good hearing)

It might just be a faulty reversing sensor, cheap and easy to replace

Happens on a lot of VW’s I drive. Seems to be a common enough fault

On our Ford,I disconnected the sensor I question and replaced it in.

There should be a system disable switch too for when you have the bikes. You'll have to remember to turn it off each time u start the car
