EIRCOM Phonewatch - Phone Failure Error

We got our Phonewatch system installed in 2009 (shown below).

For the past few weeks, there are very frequent beeping noises and various messages, mostly a 'phone failure message'. Does anyone know how I can fix this without having to call someone out and pay a crazy fee.

We are also getting the 'system low battery' message. How do I get at the system battery in the above system? Is it in the lower photo as there is a screw on the top of the lid? Once I take this off, do I need an angineer code?

I've taken off the front panel but am unsure if the area highlighted below is the battery? If so, how does it come out - seems to be almost unaccessable?

If the system is not monitored then this relates to the system sending a signal to the monitoring station and them not giving a handshake back.

Only way to solve it is to delete the numbers the system dials out on.

Centre just above the display is the release to get at the battery
