My son bought his first car in December. Unfortunately we have had nothing but problems ever since. Does anyone know how to remove the ignition barrel from a 2008 Ford Fiesta.

    A mechanic would.....

Already tried that. Mechanics don’t seem to have a clue, and that’s Fords own mechanics….

What exactly is the problem(s) that the car is experiencing?

When the key is turned the engine starts but when you take your hand off the key the engine cuts out

I find it very unusual that a mechanic in general, not even a Ford mechanic, couldn't swap the ignition barrel on a 14 year old Fiesta.

Did you google it? I did, and you'd be better off bringing it to a mechanic as it looks to be a bit faffy.

It could be more that they don't want to do it
