Returning to work after unpaid leave

    Hi guys can anyone advise me if I am due to go back to work after 2 month unpaid and 5 weeks parents leave will I be paying less tax for the first few months back?

    Depending on your situation when you did work, your tax credits for the 2 months you worked will probably already be used, because they're split as if there is 12 months or 52 weeks in a year and utilised on that basis. You will have 10 months credits not used then, but they will be split across the 7 months left in the year, giving you more per week or month than you had before in the first 2 months of the year. If you're working regular hours or have a set salary your net pay should be the same until January next year.
