    Hi All,

I have a 07 polo 9n. Recently from the drivers side I can’t open the drivers or passenger windows. I don’t hear anything (no motor noise) when I try open either.

I can open the passenger window from the passengers side only.

I thought it might be a fuse issue but put in a good fuse and still an issue on the drivers side.

As a next step should I buy a new switch, if that doesn’t work I presume it’s a wiring issue? Any thoughts?

Check the wiring at the bend where it goes into the door. You'll need to unclip and peel back the rubber cover on the loom.

I actually tried to remove that black covering which holds the wires going into the door but I couldn’t get it off due to it being stuck and me not having enough time to prise it off.

Anyway I returned yesterday and all of a sudden the windows are working again (after about 6 months of not working). I think I might have moved a wire when trying to get the cover off.

It’s my wife’s car, she did mention it happened before and she thought it was related to weather conditions. I think this all points to wiring rather than a switch issue.
