    Poor man.

    My children are estranged from their father. His choice. I know that they’d love to have some relationship with him. I’m sure that if he was seriously ill that they’d go to him. In the early days of the separation, I didn’t encourage contact. In time, I came to regret this. He left when they were young. He is their father. Thankfully, they have had a good relationship with his mum and sisters and, through them, know their father. Life can be cruel.

    I hope that Meghan can come to terms with their estrangement. I think that she’ll regret not reaching out to him.

    I'd say Meghan will reach out to her father and have it known publicly. How else would we all know how compassionate she is? Also, think of the publicity.

    What was their catchphrase? "Something compassion" or "compassionate something"?

    She is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't but has painted herself into that corner herself. Goes to see him and gets questioned about why she couldn't have done this even privately over the past five years. Doesn't go and gets questioned about the hypocrisy of preaching about compassion on the one hand while ignoring her father who has had a stroke on the other.

    I'm on the fence. You just don't know what's gone on in someone's life or why they chose to cut out someone. It could be something as simple as him not fitting into her new royal brand, or it could be as complex as proper full on familial dysfunction that she doesn't want to disclose to the world to justify cutting off her dad.

    It's often the case that when you enter into your settling down relationship, and are thinking about parenthood yourself, it often throws the parenting you experienced into sharper focus for you, and I think that H&M have both in their own ways experienced this from what can be gathered from bits here and there.

    So I don't think I'd judge her if she did or didn't visit him. I might be enticed off my fence sitting if she did a full on visit with Netflix camera man in tow...maybe!

    I think that if their rift was caused by something he did, she would have said by now. I reckon she was ashamed of him and also chose to keep her distance because he knows her secrets! Couldn't have him at the wedding and risk him spilling the beans!

    It’s very strange, he was apparently planning to go to the UK to issue Meghan with an ultimatum- ie cause mayhem at the Queen’s jubilee. There will be a lot of people quietly relieved at this news. Bizarre timing.

    If that's the case then we know where she got her penchant for drama from - Why go all the way to the UK thought when she lives relatively close to him at home though. It has to be easier to rock up to her gate with a camera crew and cause scenes than it would to fly long haul to the UK and try to get anywhere near her in the middle of likely the biggest security detail in years. I also saw a headline that implied he was invited to the Jubilee - eh, what?

    More than likely, it's a repeat of what happened at the wedding where he engaged with the press for a few quid and pretended he was going to be there when all along he wasn't so has to then fake a medical issue as his reason for not going in the end.

    I don't know much about what happened between them to cause them to become estranged. I know there was a lot in the media about it.


    I think that certain parts of the media take advantage of him tbh. I would take most stories with hefty doses of salt. If the man is unwell, I hope that he recovers.

    I started to post about that but tbh what she did disgusted me so much, I deleted it.

    I cannot even begin to imagine how that community must feel. Those beautiful children, their teachers... It's beyond belief, what happened there. It's no place for an outsider, still less one with her security in tow, and most likely a camera crew also. And described as a visit 'in a private capacity' - she doesn't have any other capacity FFS. She is a nobody.

    It's being compared to Kate's visit to quietly lay flowers for Sarah Everard, RIP. There is no comparison. MM is despicable, this is possibly her lowest and most disgusting grab for publicity yet.

    She made a big mistake visiting Uvalde. She said she was there ‘as a mother’, well imagine if the other 10s of millions of mothers in the US decided to do the same thing. The last thing that town needs is a horde of rubberneckers descending upon them. It was crass.
