Silage cut post pig slurry query

Hi, how long after application of 2500gal/acre fattening pig slurry could a man cut silage? Ground got no chemical application .

Wouldn't be sure really but could depend on the amount of rain fall. I'm guessing about 2 weeks.

Got plenty of rain thanks. It's out 2 weeks and I sent a grass sample for analysis. Thanks

Why would you have put pig slurry out on grass only 2 weeks away from being fit to cut?

Slurry is washed in. Contractor was to put out weeks ago...

Pig slurry is supposed to have 10 units of N per1000 gals so 25 units N in 2500gals.

Grass would be using 2 units/day at the moment so two weeks plus it'd take a week to start working.

Even after three weeks I wouldn't chance it

Grass should not be cut for a minimum of six to eight weeks after surface spreading to allow sufficient time for harmful clostridia bacteria to drop to safe levels for a good silage fermentat

Just for your own sake for future reference if grass is that close to cutting you’d have been better off to take a light cut off it a few weeks back and put the slurry out then after.

For the reasons Wrangler outlined above and also there must have been a lot of grass trampled on with the tractor and tank when spreading. You probably won’t have gotten much value out of the slurry at that stage either.
