Where is 40k per day, the Masters as I said?

Phoenix Open is around 750k for the four days. Way, way more than any major ever.

Ryder Cup well ahead of any major too.

I'm not sure what your point is?

they can take in spectators, brilliant

ryder cup is the ultimate in marketing and hype at this point, half the players couldn't give a shite, only there for the money

masters 40k per day is limited by the location, thats why some of the other courses were built, to take crowds, sell the tickets cheap

I bet the masters takes as much in for tickets sales

This has got to be the most off topic thread on Boards Golf forum at this point.

We've got a LIV thread, and usually a major thread knocking around too.

How do people think Rory will do this week? Looking at his strokes gained performance for the last 3 months or so, he's one of the form players in the field.

Can he build on the feelings from the final round of the Masters?

I really think he can challenge this weekend. He has been very close to really really good golf the last few tournaments he has played. He just needs a good steady start, even level par for the first round.

Absolutely, he's in good form, if he can get off to a good start he'll have every chance.

Think his putting is the best it's been in a good while, has shown improvement with the wedges.

is this a flat track for him to bully people on 🤣

if starts well for the first two rounds and then finishes off well he has a chance, as long as no one else plays better

Rinse and repeat. Gallant effort on last day to climb up the leaderboard having blown it in earlier rounds.

I think he would do better if he wasn't in the same group as tiger. I'd fancy his chances if he was in a more low key group. Hope I'm wrong though, it would be brilliant to see him win a few more majors starting here. If he can keep ahead of Speith I think he won't be too far away from winning.

There have been 7 professional tournaments at Southern Hills. The winners have either been leading or tied for the lead after 26 of the 28 rounds. Based on that there is no room for a slack 1st round this time from Rory.

Well he ain't sluggish today. 4 under through 6.

I wonder could he break his own record for winning margin in this event.

Rory looking good today, hope he can keep the head and keep plugging away. He is in with a good chance. He looked very calm today too which is a good sign.

He could be right yet. Didn't he do it in a recent tournie after a great round 1, floundered rounds 2&3 before having a fighting finish round 4

Lovely day so far for Rory, plenty of big names shooting themselves out of this.

Early yet! JT played an exceptional round. I'd happily take the field here. There is usually a bad round in him at the Majors over the last...8 years.

Phenomenal round from JT in the wind, he's gonna be tough to beat.

Struggling so far, not hitting fairways or greens and bogies the 2nd.

Very poor driving day for Rory, poor wedges also, scrambling was excellent. Hope this is his bad day out of the way.

One iffy round and suddenly he's 5 behind just shows the standard of golf these days, probably needs 2 65's to have any chance.

He'd break your heart....he needs to change something. I still think a stronger caddy who would challenge him wouldn't be a bad thing...
