I'm sorry but it's really not that simplistic and you are deluding yourself.

    Results Tuesday from 11!!!

Did you get an email about this? Don't seem to have gotten one myself!

Out of curiosity why is she deluding herself? I'm 26 and will likely be 27 by the time I secure my training contract. I've heard of plenty of people who have gotten training contracts in their 30's.

I am in my thirties (WELL into them lol) and have a training contract ... but I will say that I have worked in law firms since i was 18 (having connections definitely helps). Although, I am not Irish and the majority of my qualifications and experiences are not from Ireland.

It is hard securing a contract in general and even more so when you are older and looking for a career change etc and you are up against younger people fresh out of uni that have been through the internship programmes etc, but I only see that as a stumbling block if you are aiming for a job with the big 5.

The Hybrid traineeship has changed things up a bit as it allows older people to maintain a job while doing their traineeship so I think this method has really given older people/ those looking for a complete career change, more of a chance!

Not dismissing that trainee contracts are hard to get, they absolutely are! But with age comes experiences and a breadth of knowledge so there are just as many advantages to an older person doing the FE1s as there is someone younger doing the traditional route straight from uni/college so I hope no one is put off because of age.

PS - GOOD LUCK EVERYONE FOR TUESDAY! Here's to the system not crashing 😂

    Good Luck today every one!

I'm looking for updated exam grids for company, tort and constitutional if anybody could share?

Have a look at fe1stopshop on Instagram if you haven’t already. She has a link to a Google drive that contains up to date exam grids for all topics in exchange for a small donation to charity :)

    Hi guys,

I didn't know that my comment about positivity and supporting each other might be that controversial 😅

Thank you everyone for that. We are here to express our opinions. Just to let know I passed all FE1s and I have over 6 years of legal experience, so I've gone too far to turn back and give up. I know I will get there and you should believe in yourself, even though it's hard sometimes. Nobody said it would be easy.

Anyway best of luck everyone with your results today

I managed to log in but only on a private tab on safari. Won’t work on any other browser for me. No results posted yet 😅

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86 ✭✭Paraeagle

No, mine still says the results haven’t been published… Surprise surprise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭Al1501

No, for me it still says results have not been published. Remember to use the Firefox web browser everyone, Google Chrome and Safari gave many people trouble the last time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 238 ✭✭lawDani

they're only available from 11, so they wouldn't be published at 10am

Is it worth getting a recheck on 42? Sat equity and felt good leaving the exam

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38 T2020

Has anyone ever came up in the recheck for contract? Got 48

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20 stonewash

Yeah I got 47 then went for the recheck and got brought up to a pass. Could be very worth it.

Missed company again for the second time, but I got 46 this time which is better than the last time. Does anyone know if its worth the recheck?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭Al1501

I passed Company after coming up from 37% on the recheck. You never know!

How do we download/ review our March FE1 scripts?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1 LawStudent2022

48% in equity, has anyone been brought up to a pass on such a grade before? I can see that equity rechecks seem to bring about little change for most.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52 ✭✭swankyslug

I got 47 in property and I thought I did so well in that exam. Is it worth rechecking? 😭

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3 student102937463

This is the second time I’ve gotten 45% in the equity and I left that exam feeling so good. I got a recheck for the 1st one and didn’t go up but I just don’t understand how they mark the equity paper. I see more people saying they fail than pass. Anyway I’m applying for a remark, what have I got to lose? (Expect €115)

    Hi Folks -

I’ve spent a lot of time in this boards forum over the last couple of years and people have been wonderful in sharing resources and tips as well as general positivity to help both me and others get through these exams.

I am happy to say that after today’s results I likely won’t be back. On a final note I wanted to provide similar words which were shared with me after previous sittings. These are tough exams, they are stress inducing, they’ll keep you up at night and on top of those things most of you will be expected to go and do all the other daily things like go to work and college.

The exams are not a complete measure of your character or your ability, they only reflect a few minor attributes in what I believe makes a well rounded legal professional. So take some time, be fair to yourself, reflect on all you have achieved so far, and then when you’re ready, get back on the horse. I know how difficult it is to have a bad day when it seems like everyone else is having a good one, but your time will come.

It’s just a case of when, not if.

Got 47% in Constitutional. Anyone any experience of getting a recheck in this one? Do they tend to stay the same??

has anyone done 5 in one sitting? I'm after failing company so I have 5 left to do before my training contract starts in April 2023. I could sit in March 2023 but I wouldn't have the results til after starting tc and if I failed I'd have to drop out and wait another year - assuming firm would be okay with that. Getting pretty stressed now, so any advice would be appreciated. I'm studying for a masters at the moment, until July, after which I'll be free to study full time.
