Romania are questioning why their jury vote was discarded and why the UK was given 12 points by some of the juries and why Ukraine was given 12 for the other dismissed juries.

Romania also claims the Moldovan jury while deemed valid, had no votes for Romania which is not the normal voting pattern, while the Moldovan population gave Romania 12 points.

Romania say their 12 points in the jury vote went to Moldova, but instead that was changed by the EBU to give Ukraine 12 points.

2015, 'Playing with Numbers' by Molly Sterling was a lovely song with Celtic influences but the performance was very nervous and the lyrics too sophisticated/metaphorical, so it was not accessible to the public. It did well with the juries and was within the jury top 10 for qualification but did terribly in the televote so missed out on qualification.

Jedward were a novelty with a unique image and zany personalities. They did really well in 2011 but even in a weak year were nowhere near winning. They can't be used as a template for modern Irish entries, the same way Verka Saduchka couldn't be used as a template for subsequent Ukrainian entries. It is OK for any country to send an eccentric entry once in a while, see Serbia this year, but that approach is not sustainable for long periods. We tried to replicate Jedward's catchy pop with Ryan Dolan, Sarah McTernan and Brooke without success.

The Thin Lizzy style could be popular, see Italy's victory last year, but who could deliver a performance with Phil Lynott levels of sex appeal and charisma? It would have to be someone young and attractive otherwise they'd look like Bulgaria's entry from this year.

Really enjoyed this years competition. After listening to the whole playlist on spotify a few times over the last week, I find Portugal and Iceland's have really grown on me. Especially Portugal, it is such a beautifully composed and performed song. What's strange is the first time hearing all the songs watching the semi-finals, the ones I enjoyed most were the kind of "mad" ones (Norway, Serbia, Moldova, Latvia, Finland, Czech Republic). Found the slower ones a little boring at first, but Portugal's has that kind of lasting power as a song I could see myself still listening to it 10 years from now. Shocked that Spain finished ahead of them.

In other words, the whole thing stinks a bit. Not the end of the world exactly but further devalues the 'competition'.
