Attaching radiator cover to the wall

Anybody has any experience attaching this type of radiator cover to the wall?

There is a space underneath the top part of the cover where the round pegs are supposed to sit. Do I just need to drill a hole in the wall using the peg that has the screw so that the peg is atached to the wall and the cover sits on top of the peg? And what about the other one that comes without a screw, should I buy a similar screw and do the same so that I will have two round pegs attached to the wall on each side?

Sorry for the basic questions, I'm pretty new at this stuff, and never even drilled a hole in the wall.

For me thats a nail and you just tap in with a hammer... there be no stress so i expect one either end and it just sits on top and outer side sits on rad... the nail just fell out of the other one... any shop give you a nail for a smile... i have never seen these so its guess work...

Agree that is just a nail and not much point drilling a hole. Funny looking fitting though for a radiator cabinet, I can't imagine how it holds it securely. I have attached a half dozen cabinets and used magnetic catches originally as easy to take off for whatever reason but when child pulled one off down on top of himself I used hook catches attached to wall (drilled and screwed) with catch on the cabinet, this worked very well until said child pulled one side straight out of wall! Bought bigger stronger hooks!

Can never understanding radiator covers. Blocking the heat in. Very inefficient.

Most screws i have seen have a visable thread and get wider... i have used nails that look like screws for ventilation covers and they look like these but i really do not know...

Probably depends on design, I don't find they do block anything, in fact oddly enough my sitting room which has one is warmer than bedroom that doesn't have one, similar size rooms in a bungalow. Have to have gaps top and bottom and not too closed in front, the one in main post is a bit too enclosed in front for my liking but maybe the vents are big.

We were told to drill a hole, but I wasn't sure if to drill it with the peg attached already.

what kind of wall is it?

you see the inlet/ groove at the top that’s sits on the wooden circle. I assume there’s instructions which tell you what height you put it.

I dont think i ever seen a drill bit as small as that... i still think they are nails as i had the same but i was fitting to dry lined wall so perfect...

Is the top of the nail/screw flat? Might just be a annular ring nail to give it grip. They don't look strong enough to be hammered into anything but timber.

Those pieces might be designed to be hammered into the radiator cover as a spacer to keep it out from the top of the wall if you have skirting at the bottom. Usually there are tiny metal brackets on the frame that you can use to screw it to the wall. If not you could probably add them easily enough.
