    Noticed this on Breaking news link for anyone interested.

    So my question is if she hypothetically gave me €10,000 towards a deposit for a house as a friend not a family member would I be liable for Tax on that 10k?

    I assume I would. If so a bit silly to say you have been giving that amount of money away to friends and family. Is that 60 million the tax man would like to know more about, except of course for that given to trust funds.
