Agreed, I really like the new premier 42. The navitimer is a classic, and the aerospaces and endurance pro are cool. Problem they have is that they brought out endless variations on the superocean and chronomat with horrible shiny bracelets in the 2000's and people lost interest, and they cheaped out on movements and materials at times and the stank of that hangs around.

I have seen Times BLNR its new model with the oyster....premium piece.

I may, may... need to roll over a watch or 2 in the next month or so. Likely my Sinn U2-W but may consider something else in my box if there's anything I have that someone may want.

The U2-W is a white dialled limited edition of 150 and mine, because I am a giant child is 069/150 😉

I have to save some money myself, so I shouldn't even humour this...

But how much are asking for @banie01? Feel free to PM if you prefer.

    Hi folks,

I picked this up from Chrono24 recently. It's lovely but I've picked up two similar watches recently that means it's probably not going to get much wear. Seiko presage SRPB07J1

Posted Nationwide at 320 euro. Collection north Dublin

    Thanks,

    Hi Folks,

I'd like to put my Steinhart Ocean One Vintage up for sale. Just not wearing it much these days. Think I got it around Christmas 2017, the booklet is stamped Nov 2017. Excellent condition, all boxes. Bracelet hardly used as I mostly had it on a leather strap. Small chip in the bezel. Not advertised elsewhere at the moment. Asking €300. (1st attempt at uploading pictures, sorry if it goes wrong)

    Rolex Datejust 1603 from 1976, 36mm diameter.

I'm thinking of putting this up for sale. It's a great watch, just not getting enough wrist time. Non-quickset. I bought it January 2021, and it had been serviced and polished in 2020. No box or papers. I also have a faux alligator strap with a genuine Rolex pin buckle. There is good stretch in the bracelet, but it is 45 years old. Silver pan pie dial and machined bezel. Movement pictures were taken by the watchmaker who serviced it. Is €4,400 about right, with better deal on offer for anyone here?

I am not sure, I sold my watches some years ago, life changed dramatically. I now want to buy just one watch for enjoyment and long life, 40-44mm, reliable, and nice. An all-occasions watch, hence thinking an Omega, understated, not a Rolex or Cartier...

Good watch, good brand, robust, I like them. Some people find them thick others don't care. An excellent choice

For a "one & done " watch and avoiding Rolex , I cant think of a better brand than omega. Reasonable price ( in luxury watch terms) great brand, bomb proof , has enough of the "nice watch "recognition without being flash .I would pick a seamaster diver 300m based on watch thickness though. The planet ocean is 16mm** which would be too much for me for a daily wear , but that's a personal taste thing.

Older preceramic version with calibre 2500 are not as thick. Around 14mm

    Hi folks,

I'm selling my Seamaster 300m as something else has come up I'm interested in. The 300 is a July 2021 model, full set with box and cards. Pretty much mint condition with full bracelet and I'll also include the oem omega rubber strap and buckle.

    Priced keenly for any boardsie

Thanks, the only other watch in the sector I am considering is a Breitling Superocean in the same size range, as a one watch does all keeper, any thoughts on the Breitling, and I am 60/40 in favour of Omega...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 2,979 ✭✭✭scwazrh

I love Breitling but you can’t compare them with Omega .I’ve a breitling avenger and the seamaster and everything about the seamaster is better even though the avenger is a great watch. The seamaster for me is the best dive watch under €5k and is technically a better watch than a submariner.

Micks watch is a great price as well especially with the rubber strap , that’s a few hundred on it’s own.

Rubber with buckle 350 from weirs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,021 ✭✭✭✭banie01

100% agree. I've owned a Breitling Superocean ii and I loved it, great watch but not on a par with my Omegas in either quality or versatility.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 2,979 ✭✭✭scwazrh

You’re too cheap so .I’d say it would make €4100 without the strap & buckle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11 LeonOSearcaigh

Thanks guys, I am giving myself tons of time, pardon the pun, good luck to Mick in selling the watch!

Bear in mind when buying a breitling they are soft as butter so if you plan to off load it in a couple of years you will take a bath when selling it, for me breitling are nice but it has to be pre owned and a very good price.

planet ocean on the other hand holds more value over time but it’s all down to personal preference and when I’m considering one of two watches I always end up with both 🤣
