New House Not Built To Plan

My partner and I have put and booking deposit down on a house in a new estate and signed the contracts and all. We went up to the newly built house today for the first time to do a pre snag. Just checking to make sure it was actually ready for an official snag before sending someone in to do one.

On our plans and the show house we viewed (which we were told was going to be the exact same floor plan as our house) we were led to believe there was going to be a door leading out from the utility room into the side passage of the garden.

Long story short, we arrived up there today to find that the utility room didn't have this door included and was completely sealed off from the side passage with just one door into it from the kitchen. I arrived home and rang the EA to ask about this and they were shocked that this had happened and weren't informed about this themselves and even double checked with me to make sure I visited the right house today.

I've contacted my solicitor about this and am awaiting to hear back from him regarding what to do about it. It's not a deal breaker but I'm not impressed the fact that they went agains't the original plans and didn't even tell us this was the case.

I'm curious to know if anyone had any experience in something similar before and what was the outcome.

As I said, we still want the house but it's not what I signed on the dotted line for and will be taking the matter further to get some answers. A door/entrance to the house being left out of a house is a pretty big mistake imo.
