Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just an update on the status of the proposed new Shannon radar received from the Met office yesterday 05-11-21:

"We’re progressing on the Shannon Weather radar replacement project, as well as the programme to expand the national weather radar network by up to 5 radars. The Shannon radar installation will take place before Q2 2022."

I wonder what "before Q2 2022" means? Is it before -the beginning of Q2 or -the end of Q2? Phrase is a bit imprecise for scientists?

Also is there any timeframe for the extra 5 radars?

The local paper says it will be in the coming summer:-

A new weather radar will be installed at Shannon Airport next summer after being listed as an element of the government’s Climate Action Plan.

The Climate Action Plan commits to continue the modernise the weather radar network by procuring a replacement dual-polarisation weather radar for Shannon Airport which will provide improved weather and climate monitoring.

"Before Q2 2022" should mean sometime before March 31st, as otherwise it would be "During Q2 2022"

Good to see the upgrades, but I would still contend that there should be weather radars on e.g. the western ridge of Brandon in Kerry, and Slievemore in Achill.

Would be nice all right, but could you imagine the uproar the minute planning permission is applied for.
