I watched that film couple of nights ago. I thought it was excellent. Had everything I wanted. Bit of a thriller, bit of mystery. And not knowing where it was going until the end. I’ve seen Chris Pine in couple of movies recently - the finest hours, the contractor, he’ll or high water. He’s a much better actor than I had ever thought. I had put him down as one of those leading man lady charmers. But I was wrong.

Yeah, quite liked All the Old Knives too... nothing groundbreaking, but it's pretty well put together with very little resources. All built on a few conversations across a couple of different settings - I can always appreciate a story that can sustain itself through pretty much dialogue alone.

i needed a new chromcast and splashed out on the dear one "google Tv" and it has utterly transformed my Prime viewing, it just seems to bring the better movies out onto the main screen, i can never find anything on the prime app itself worth watching,

Anybody have any success in finding Dr. No in the Bond section. Was hoping to start watching them from the beginning and its the first film but had no joy actually finding it.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,923 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

I saw something earlier mentioning that Dr. No was getting a cinema re-release sometime around now. I wonder if that's why it's not up?

Watched King of New York (1990) with Christopher Walken and young Laurence Fishburne and Wesley Snipes. Fantastic movie, seems to be a classic that I had never really heard of before. Definitely recommend it.

Still struggling with the Prime interface. Can't really find many decent crime TV series to binge.

If you can find Les Bureau de Legendes and its still there that is the best thing on Prime. Incredibly captivating series about the French intelligence agency.

Can anyone locate the 007 fillm Skyfall on their Prime? The Prime search engine is just a mess.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,325 ✭✭✭cuttingtimber22

I don’t think they have it. Certainly did not come up when I searched.

Anyone any idea why S5 Vikings is now unavailable, while S1-4 are there ok?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,348 ✭✭✭Wrongway1985

Commonly asked, some shows have duplicate blocks for whatever reason that won't list a particular season so just search for item instead and you should get what your after.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,358 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

Use an app like justwatch to find movies on streaming services, it's much easier. Just search for the movie and click the link, it will open the movie in the streaming app for you if you have it installed on that same device.

Prime has so many great movies if you can find them.

Have never seen The Big Sick heard that's decent so will have a look at that, is Good Girls Revolt worth a look? know it was cancelled after the sole season but had potential and was compared to a slight step down from Mad Men (which is a high bar imo tbf)

I remember being pretty adamant that there was no real need for a second season of Undone but turns out I was very very wrong. The second season managed to elevate the show to sit alongside my all time favourites and now I'm already anticipating a third season (which I really hope we do get as it's yet to be officially renewed).

Took a while for it to find its feet but Hacks has definitely grown on me. I can clearly see why it was so highly regarded. The second season is starting on Prime on Friday too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,948 ✭✭✭garra

I'm not a big fan of most US based comedy/drama shows, the cutesy smart assed humour is toe curling puerile bo!!ox in general. Hacks shows how to entertain with real characters and not an ounce of schmaltzy twee drivel in sight. Excellent dialogue, depth of character, unhinged relationships and odd plot twists makes it a refreshing antidote to everything else from the US for me. 4 episodes at a time flys by like a feed of Guinness on a Friday night.

The Expanse - Have watched the First Season. Is this worth keeping at it. First Season wasn't too bad and kept me interested enough.

Just looking for feedback from others who have watched the reast of the 5 Seasons.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 35,941 CMod ✭✭✭✭pixelburp

Yes, keep going. Season 1 is generally regarded as the "worst" season, and the quality is an upward curve from here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,723 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

If you like sci-fi, i'd definitely say yes! I was the same with season one, I watched the first few episodes, then left it for a couple of years, but once I went back I tore through the rest and really enjoyed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,063 ✭✭✭Man Vs ManUre

No time to die was pretty awful. Craig has made only 2 good Bond films, Casino Royale and Skyfall.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,063 ✭✭✭Man Vs ManUre

The new Candyman is absolutely dreadful.
