i got a small cordlesss screwdriver with Li ion battery. What is the best way to charge Li ion should it be charged regularly even when not dead? Or wait till it is drained completely?

Firstly always use the charger provided as Li-Ion batteries have particular charging characteristics.

If the screwdriver has a % remaining indication, always charge it when it's showing low, and make sure not to dog the drill until it dies completely. Don't leave batteries in a low state for long. Also don't fully charge it and leave it at a high state of charge. It's best left with a mid-capacity charge if it's being left for a long period of time.

    And finally keep it cool.

And you can learn more here if you want:

There’s no benefit to constantly charging it. Best thing to do is charge it once there’s approx half left on it, and run it to empty every few charges.

but to be honest, there’s no need to overthink it once you’re not constantly topping it up.
