You’re the eejit who encourages throwing a brick at a moving vehicle on a public forum, right?

sorry, I don’t converse with violent thugs.

Regardless of the fact that you have resorted to name calling, bravo for your moral standing, sense of humour and levels of outrage. Not to mention your questioning of a previous posters lineage.

I'd say you're probably great craic over a few pints? 😏

Hopefully you’ll take your own advice and stop spamming this thread so.

Those traffic lights at the Dunkettle/Glanmire roundabout are one of the greatest examples of a man made traffic jam that you’ll ever see.

Prior to their installation it used to take me 2-3 minutes to travel that dual carriageway every day, now it can take anything upwards of 20+ minutes with 35 being the longest time I’ve spent crawling through there at rush hour.

It was absolute insanity to install them there, never an issue with traffic at that roundabout. Christ knows what genius thought it was a good idea or who signed off on it. Turning them off would instantly solve the problem but I won’t hold my breath.

I see that it's now acceptable to call other posters "eejits", and, "violent thugs"!

So obvious too that they were going to be a disaster. Did someone do a study, or was there an oversupply of traffic lights that needed putting somewhere?

The thread is clearly a moderation-free zone, as violence is being lauded as a solution to traffic problems, and anyone who disagrees is someone who isn't any "craic".

I'd say sending bricks through windows is great craic alright, especially after a few pints. 🙄

What a sh1t show this place is.

    I wouldn't worry.

After your attempt to associate a very minor aggressive act of frustration to the invasion of Ukraine, I seriously doubt that anyone on this forum will ever take you seriously again. Perhaps it's not the place for you, really.

Your rude and aggressive posting style, and ridiculous hyperbole, will hardly be missed.

I believe that the problem is that they needed a "PFO" route to get cyclists from Glounthaune to Tivoli. This was their (very) low quality solution.

And no, it doesn't work for cyclists either. Everyone loses out.

Cork County Council Roads Department, if you're wondering who did it. And yes, they knew it was of extreme low quality.

I see that Brian Boru Street is now two way traffic.

Could make for some interesting encounters!

Yup. I literally posted on another forum about how it'd be dangerous when it changed over..... and then walked out in front of (the new, Northbound) traffic!

Could easily see a collision too between someone on McCurtain St. rushing at the lights turn red, not expecting a car to be coming up from Boru St. and across the lanes of traffic.

The biggest danger I see is someone flying down Summer Hill North and trying to slip into the right hand lane on BB Street, meeting traffic head on coming against them.

And yes, it will cause more problems for the serial light breakers as traffic may now be coming from an unexpected direction.

Has the new one way lane made the traffic on summerhill coming down worse? I wasn't great at times tbf.

Glanmire roundabout is nuts, I'm trying to think of a worse decision, I can't.

It's like going back to pre tunnel days.

Probably, it's an extra 'state' of lights that they need to sit through (waiting for traffic coming up Boru St. and turning onto Lower Glanmire Rd, and turning onto McCurtain St. in the future). There's also going to be a bus route coming up Boru St. and turning into that bus-only lane that runs into Alfred St. and over to the bus station, but hopefully they shouldn't have to change the lights again for that.

Also the fact that there now only 2 southbound lanes to move into rather than 3.

No right turn for traffic on brian boru street onto lower road.
