Tech Firms starting to bring employees back into the office!

What will happen is one of two things. a) All companies pull employees back and the 2/3 days in the office becomes the norm. b) Employees push back and gravitate to companies that offer fully remote/more remote options thus depriving the other companies of talent. If its the latter option then I think we will see companies offering all options once attrition starts to bite.

Above is obviously simplistic and very dependent on sectors, I was focusing on the tech sector. I think one thing that could scupper the whole remote/highly flexible working is if employees start to get pushed aside for opportunities/promotions. You can be doing great work but a lot of times if you aren't seen, you aren't remembered.

I am starting a job in Dublin next month and I am 90%+ at home except for a day every few weeks. I shall update this thread in six months on the pros and cons 😂

Both have been happening and will continue to happen with places adjusting one way or the other as time goes by.

there will also be c) Employers will only do 100% in the office. Now THOSE will see headcount losses for sure

It's obvious they will pull people a few days more over time until its back to pre lockdown. We'll all be back spending hours travelling back and forth. Madness.
