Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Aa bad as this is I am so happy that this did not happy at the weekend gone. My Goddaughter was in New York. Even if she was not near the shooting it would still be scary for her and she is only 17.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

    Guns. Guns. Guns.

    Do we get that here?

    No.

    America hey.

    Anyone can have a gun.

    They wont change.

    They wont learn.

    Leave 'em to it.

The idea that any civilian should have access to guns in this day and age still blows my mind, gun ban yesterday if not sooner before more lives are lost.

Gun ban is too simplistic at this stage because the genie is out of the bottle. Even if it were feasible to do what the Aussies did and offer up an amnesty, there are too many straight up nutjobs who love their guns and would start a civil war over it.

A child can see that the intention of the second amendment was to ensure that official members of a regulated civil defence force could have access to weapons in their home should that be needed in the interests of national security.

The intention was never for every mouth breather to be able to have weapons at home for any reason whatsoever.

But because the US Supreme Court cares more about partisan politics than establishing truths, it's a mess.

Any solution to this is multi-generational. That is, causing the number of gun owners to decline through death and atrophy rather than trying to get people to give up their guns directly.

NY has the strictest gun laws/bans in the US. The Bleeding Hearts Brigade need to realize that certain elements of society don't care about our laws. That's why they're criminals.

NY is being run by virtue signalling idiots that thought it was a good idea to let criminals out of jail with bail.
