This information goes over my head.

But it might interest someone here.

Does it mean they are running out of smart munitions if they are down to using anti ship missiles in land?

He might be one of the people who are concerned by the housing crisis and who don't want Ireland taking refugees because they fear it will worsen their chances of buying or renting accommodation.

I would say a major reason some people are not comming forward more are the typical Irish public service eejits trying to organise it. They seem to be doing their level best to try and put people off, they certainly put me off. They want Garda checks on everyone, they want to inspect the accommodation being offered, they want people to offer bedrooms with en-suites - FFS - they want the minimum time offered to be 6 months with a strongly stated preference for it to be 12 months and they seem to not like shared accommodation and are being incredibly slow. Even Veradker said he hadn't been allocated any refugees a good while after saying he'd offered and several other people have said the same.

You think people offering to take vulnerable and traumatised women and children into their home shouldn't be Garda vetted?

It's coming clearer alright that the Germans hunt with hounds and run with the hare. Fair bit of old PR out of them.

To be honest, I agree with the garda vetting. I've offered and spoke with both the red cross and refugee council, and waiting on a visit to inspect the property.

If they say no, not suitable, then that's all I can do. But I couldn't in good conscience sit and do nothing.

We should defend our way of life to an extent that any attempt on it is crushed, so that any adversary will never make such an attempt in the future.

No, I wasn't trying to imply that, I just mentioned it as it's part of the package and it seems to be one of the things causing the significant delays.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,549 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

The main reason people are not coming forward, is because they don't want to. That's their choice and they entitled to make it and the should be respected. The check lists that are in place are sound in principle, no one really should have a problem with them.

That said the government seem to have dumped this on the red cross who seem completely overwhelmed, the only tangible supports I'm seeing is from individuals or groups of volunteers on the ground getting involved off their own backs. Absolute no central direction or cohesion. It's all being organised via social media.

If you want to host as soon as, get onto your local TD, in my locality they are bypassing the delay and getting people homed.

Practical reality of the number coming will be significant downward pressure on wages, you can forget about the minimum wage changing to meet inflation, forget about social housing etc, there will have to be significant cuts to services like health etc.

I think we should help them but there certainly is a rose tinted glasses effect for the middle class activist types.

The burden will fall hard on everyone but especially the bottom half of society.

Wasn't there 12 Brigades of the Eastern Army on the Dombass front in the East. Maybe they have left the area i'm not sure.

You're absolutely right, imagine a young mother with children, not wanting to offend Capt. Creep in case she loses the roof over their heads.

These ladies need to KNOW they're safe, safe & safe and will remain safe, safe & safe.

The lucky ones are those who have only HEARD OF terrible things first hand, others will have witnessed those things.

So the troops are there and sort of stranded but not encircled and it is a bit of a stalemate at the moment where the two sides are positioned.

Love how these scumbags move to our liberal democracy, benefit from our freedoms and economic opportunities- yet throw it back and rub this shite in our faces- if Russia is such a great place, what are you doing here? I’d deport the whole lot of these tramps. Try this in Moscow and see what would happen you.

@brickster69 I see where you're coming from now alright but I've not seen any mention of them being actually stranded anywhere in that area. I'd assumed they fell back to Donetsk and/or Severodonetsk in the early stages of the invasion back in March. This is where the front is now. I'm not aware of Ukranian troop positions beyond, so no one stranded.

@correct horse battery staple I'd disagree and say that the Russians have started the movement. Just because there's been a lack of progress doesn't mean they haven't started. With the exception of a small inroad being made at Izyum.

    Untitled Image

Russian artilleryman Lieutenant Colonel Savinov Vyacheslav Valeryevich, deputy chief of staff of the RMA department - chief of artillery reconnaissance of the 49th Combined Arms Army, was killed on Mar 12, apparently. I believe this has just recently become known.

Maybe they leave Ural oil out of it. It is a bit different to other oils in that it is heavy. Canada have it but the pipeline was blocked also Venezuela but they are under sanctions.Saudi oil is lighter and used for gasoline, so could lead to a huge spike in diesel and heating oil if it is just cut. China don't have the refineries for Ural oil so maybe they will go into the reselling business.

Translation: we will continue to give Ukraine stuff of limited utility which might let them hold out a bit longer, while we hold back the stuff they really need and have asked for.

I wish they would stop with hyping up what assistance is being provided. According to the Russians, they destroyed another S300 system at an airfield in the approximate middle of Ukraine, while just a day or two earlier, it was really big news that Slovakia had provided a single S300 system. Which is wonderful, but if they are losing them at the rate the are getting them, it's not good overall.

Edit: It appears the Orcs were lying about having destroyed the S300 and it was supposed to have been the Slovak one.

  • Ffs, pity we didn't get wind of this. I would have travelled up to Howth. A counter demonstration would be some craic. That miniscule convoy wouldn't last long.

I'd love to know who that **** in the Jeep is with the Z symbols. Not just a letter as some claim, It's a symbol that will live through the history books and be associated with the atrocities. I'm sure it strikes the fear of God into many Ukrainians as they see it turn onto their street not knowing the level of destruction and death that is about to befall them.

The fella she's addressing here you can visually see his anger he had to get up and walk away.

I hope there's someone else coming in to take her out in the next election. The woman and her funny haired side kick are a daily embarrassment to the nation.

The arrogance of aloof Socialist MPs who remember the horror of Soviet Russia and the brutal threat and reality of Russia on the door stop.

What a totally dumb cnut. What does she want the Ukrainians to do, surrender and become part of Russia? Then Putin says I want Poland or I'll nuke Warsaw. So we give them Poland. Then I want Germany or I'll nuke Berlin. The problem with this cnut is she read some books by academics and she thinks she knows how the world works and how to fix it. How naive. There's a lot more to the world than the little socialist fantasy floating round in her tiny head.

It looks like history is starting up again.

Those dictionaries with photos to help make definitions were popular for a while. If there were such a thing as video dictionaries I'm pretty sure I know what word that video would appear under.

    That's exactly what they want.

People like her (assuming she doesn't know she's a Russian agent) swallow particular things hook, line and sinker. Just see their reaction when the Brits or Yanks do something wrong, they jump straight on it and (rightly) condemn it. But when it's Russia, well, fighting back against them is warmongering.

My dial which indicates how much of a knob I think Clare Daly is has been red lining for a while now. I hope the likes of Mairead Mcguinness are saying more sensible things so that other European countries don't think Daly's views represent us.

Nonsense, as we are so often reminded around these parts, diversity is both a strength and blessing, the more new Irish we have brought in from dystopian shitholes that still owe their allegiance to said shithole, the more enriched we shall be. Just wait till it kicks off with the Chinese. Fun times ahead.

Back in reality, these fuckers should be hauled in and told they're now deported then chucked over the wall of the Russian embassy for their own government to mind. Just imagine, the likes of shatter and mcentee probably handed some of the ****s Irish passports after they collected a few weetabix tokens.

The crude analogy as to what she is implying is that if someone wants to rape you to not fight back, let it happen so as to not antagonise your attacker further.

That's how batshıt crazy that speech was.
