    Hi,

I am a builder who is VAT registered in ROI with no dealings in Northern Ireland.

I am looking to buy a Range Rover in NI for personal use. Can I pay for this through the company without paying VAT? And then just pay VRT on it.

    Thanks

Is it going to be your company car? Is it a commercial?

Watch the bik changes from January as it could be quite expensive depending on engine, some of the plug in hybrids, land rover, Volvo etc will be in the same bik category as a Tesla from January so could be an option to look at.

I think you've to pay the vat then claim it back then pay it again in Ireland, you also need to check is it a northern car as that also makes a difference.
