    Hi Guys,

I've snagged some things in my renovation and I'm still unhappy with the finish on many things. What is the procedure here? Does the builder have to fix them again or do I just have to pay him now.

One of the most important items to include in a Shag List are all of the Scratched panes of glass. The builder must replace every one of them.

It takes time to be able to spot all of the scratches.

it is very important to request the Builder to clean all of the glass first, to enable you to see the scratches.

Once you move in to the house without identifying all of the scratched panes of glass, you will be told by the builder that you must have caused the scratches in all of the scratched panes of glass yourself.

Put all of the snags on a list in writing and ask the builder to fix all of the Items. If the builder refuses to fix some items, then you have a dispute. You can decide to accept this.

The best way to resolve the dispute is that you engage a Construction Professional, and the builder also engaged one, and you and the builder agree to accept the findings of both professionals.

This will be necessary if you decide to go legal on some of the items on the Snag list.
