If anyone is down the middle aisles today could they let me know if they see a garden axe for chopping firewood. It has a long handle and the brand is Parkside with the price of 14.99. It was supposed to be on the specials on Monday but wasnt in the two Lidls I went to. Emailed CS and they said it might be in Thursday however my closest Lidl is a 30km round trip so looking to find out if it came into other Lidls before trying again, I dont want to head off on a fools errand to find its not there again.

Can I please ask how you are adding the €10 off €50 code to your Lidl app to use it? Or do you just tell the cashier the code and they enter it?

    TIA!

Tap '...More' on bottom right and go into Redeem code. Type Knockn1 to get 10 off 50 and activate it. Next week it's Knockn2 and so on. You've a week to use it from when you redeem it.

I used it today in Dublin on house and garden plants, got my €10 off no problem!

I think it's a combination of the Spanish truck strike, and increased energy costs, especially gas impacting the greenhouses. I've read that some greenhouse growers in the UK haven't even bothered planting crops.

I don't think it's the whole story though as I've had no problems with our local SuperValu and much of what I bought there was from Spain.

Lidl is huge with 11550 stores Europe-wide, all requiring tomatoes and Musgrave are an Ireland only operation. There are also crop failures due to Spain droughts, labour shortages, ferries are already full of cargo, and Brexit is a factor as it generally rules out the landbridge.

That's all true, and I suspect there's probably a massive pressure from the big chains like Lidl and Aldi to try to keep prices down to as close to their previous level as possible, whereas smaller operators might be more likely to just pay over the odds to get stock and pass the increases on to their consumers.

There's a warehouse sale going on in the Shackleton (Lucan) store for the weekend, some good deals there. There's more there than what's listed on the webpage. And works fine with Lidl plus.

The below is a general 'signature' and not part of any post:

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Anyone know what the cod is like? Always looks a bit rubbery, is it worth a go?

Nothing other than what’s showing on the app. Must be spend so much, get a stamp, collect so many stamps and be entered into a draw.

Not sure if it's the same one in the picture but I've had cod from Lidl a few times and liked it.

Dairygold up to €3.39 this morning, not that long ago it was €2.29, then €2.50, recently €2.99 (but every few weeks it was 2for€5). Some increases, we fly through it so would notice the price.

Noticed similar with chicken slices - was €1.69, then €1.99, now €2.19

Didn’t work for me in my local Lidl. Had €54 clocked up and didn’t come off; Funny as the Ballycullen one worked no bother

Used in Dublin no problem. I bought a power washer that was discounted by 20 euro, the voucher got me an additional 10 off. Thank you!

Likewise no problem using it in Dublin on non food items. Nice saving, thanks OP!

The 10euro of 50 knock code worked for me today in Kildare

I'm missing a few scratchcards, I should know this but

Do you have to buy something to get a scratchcard or do you get one when your transaction is only to redeem a scratch n win prize?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 961 ✭✭✭crayon80

You could buy the cheapest thing in the shop every morning and evening and get 14 scratchcards in the week 😂

Correction, looks like you could just go in twice a day and collect a freebie every time lol

I get scratchcards when I redeem a prize without purchasing anything, provided it has been more than the 10 hour limit between earning scratchcards.

That's great! I'll amend my post. I have definitely NOT got them on occasions where I only redeemed a card (10hrs+) so I haven't done that anymore but maybe the system has changed since.
