I'm a bit surprised that we haven't gone for Ryan and Henderson at lock with Beirne at blindside flanker. The loss of Porter is huge as I think he's a genuine world class player. We'll miss the extra bit of power that he brings.

Glad to see Doris at 8 again though. He's a brilliant player and one who always makes a contribution whenever he's on the ball. Give him the chance to carry slightly further out and he'll make hay.

Overall, it's still a good side albeit one that lacks the dynamism of the side that swept the Autumn Internationals.

I don't think it can be understated how big a loss Porter is. He is extremely aggressive in the tackle/clean out/carry yet at the sametime incredibly disciplined and accurate. He also pulls off the ridiculous hair reasonably well, he is the player Joe Marler thinks himself to be.

Isn't this fierce diverse altogether.
