Can you get a float valve for the middle of a pipe? i.e. inline

Does anyone know if you can get something that works like a ballcock but which sits inline in a pipe. i.e. the water wouldn't directly be exiting into that specific tank but if that tank was full, you want to stop the flow of water going somewhere else

What do you want it for exactly? There may be another way around doing what you want.

I take it you want something like this one attached. You can connect a pipe to the outlet side of the ballcock valve.

That might work but probably wouldn't be ideal. Might need a high volume version of it as would want a relatively normal flow after the valve

Think of the tank as a receiving tank at the end of a system. The water is going to be turned on by hand to flow through the system. It should be turned off by hand when finished. The receiving tank should never fill in reality as it water would be being drawn off somewhere else.

The valve would be in case someone forgot to turn it off. It's not really suitable to put the flow through a ballcock at the return to the tank as I wouldn't want the system to be pressurised with the water. So if the "safety" valve could shut off the flow before it entered the system, it would be better.
