I actually saw that. He did try briefly but eventually just let him ramble on and then the link was dropped. When someone wants to make an idiot of themselves you just leave them to it!

How do you know that? Based on what would you make that assumption? Putin said there's Nazis in the Country, the west said there isn't. There is in fact. The Ukraine President said he is Jewish, how could he be a Nazi? The Nazis in the Country are being funded by another Jewish person so yes the President could in fact be a Nazi. I'm not saying he is. But I'm not saying he isn't either.

He has done nothing about the Nazi unit in the National Guard. Why? Not all seems as it first appeared. Ukraine is a corrupt Country. You might not like that. That's not my problem. Peace for the People, Russia must be stopped. But Putin isn't as weak as Members on here will have you believe. A lot on here are not half as concerned for the poor people of the Ukraine. Half are terrified of been nuked by Putin and I wouldn't blame them. But if they are as concerned about the Ukrainians as they say. Go and join the International Brigade.

No surprise that people tend to feel more for their own tribes. This is human nature. The guy is basically saying that he's emotional seeing his own kind getting butchered. The Arabs are just the same in Arab media when they talk about M.E conflicts. They even differentiate which kind of Arab i.e shia/Sunni.

And like it or not, there is more shock at this happening in Europe. We're used to the M.E countries fighting it out.

Not sure what these two are up to here. Contest here looks more like they disagree and they are trying to show some support for Putin.

Mr Fridman and Mr Aven will contest the spurious and unfounded basis for the imposition of these sanctions - vigorously and through all means available to them to reverse unwarranted and unnecessary damage to the livelihoods and prosperity of their many employees, customers, partners and stakeholders and the businesses that they and their partners have built up over the past 25 years.

Can't say I'm an expert on Vietnam but it wasn't a war solely in Vietnam as other superpowers took sides and participated.

Ukraine are alone. If the US joined them on the ground then I'd say fight as the US would hammer Russia. But Ukraine are going to be crushed, it's inevitable.

Considering that part of modern Weestern Ukraine was actually in Poland until brutally invaded by Hilter & Stalin in collusion in 1939, I would suggest that as Putin has indicated that he does not consider the post war modern borders of Europe legitimate, why should the rest of Europe or the world?

Once he massacres hundreds of thousands of people all consideration of legitimate borders are an irrellevance & it's time for the world to act against this 21st century Hitler.

It's up to Ukraine who & what military forces from other nations can access it's territory not some tyrant who still claims to be acting for a legitimate cause, so justifying a perverted invasion of mass murder & destruction.

    Slava Ukraine! Death to Putin!

Zero id say. It would result in nuclear strikes and the World won't risk that for a non NATO Country.

There's a level of heightened anxiety and panic in chaos of trying to get out of Ukraine. Women and children first is the de facto policy in such a sea of people and even at that there can be delays of up to 30 hours getting across. That kind of scenario must be unbelievably stressful and it is perfectly natural to think that other people are being favoured regardless of what tribe you are in.

It's up to Putin to challenge it as such, which he really won't but it will feed his paranoia even more.

Fair play to you. I'm not tech savvy so what do I have to do?

Good idea about the Google Reviews (if it's not blocked in Russia) but maybe people should be using Google translate to put them into Russian before posting? Not sure how the review algorithm works but assume it displays reviews in Russian to people in Russia first (like here the english ones are displayed first vs. other languages)?

Worrying to see/hear about this convoy. Agree with the consensus that Putin has gone too far now to back out. Really horrific, heart goes out to all the brave Ukrainians and their families.

Thanks for civilized replies. I guess the table thumping posters that can only hold one idea in their head at a time and want to police the discussion as though this boards thread was the frontline rather than a talking shop haven't woken up yet. :)

Like others, am going to disengage from thread for a bit. Every bit of righteous energy expended here is --let's be honest-- righteous energy that could have been expended elsewhere with more real world effect.

If Poland entered the war it wouldn't drag NATO into it.

Taiwan will join moves to block some Russian banks from the SWIFT international payments system “in lockstep” with Western countries, Premier Su Tseng-chang told reporters on Tuesday.

Search on twitter.. there is text there you can copy and paste. Do your due diligence. I left a fair few myself. Of course I had to weight up the ethics of leaving a five star review on what might in reality be a very poor eaterie, but in the circumstances felt it was worth it ;) :)

Google to block RT and Sputnik news from YouTube in Europe.

Not sure how I feel about this one. Censorship like this always seems to have a habit of coming back to bite you in the arse.

They got demonetised at first, which I agreed with as they're state owned - but banned completely for European viewers? hmmm

Very weird... I wonder if what he was very clumsily trying to get at with the racial stereotypes was maybe an expectation (of "non Europeans" - don't know man's background, judging by appearance!? [edit ironically]) that Western Europe (where the "white people" are from) is supposedly stable, secure, wealthy and unlike other parts of the world is unlikely to have wars break out + associated death & destruction + floods of refugees. Ukraine is on the border of the EU after all.

    W. Europe is one place the poor & those made refugees look to go to + is expected to take on a burden of sheltering them, wherever else in the world there is war going on. Suppose it's still that, as I sit in peace at home but looking somewhat more precarious, likely to become more so if Putin succeeds with what he is trying to do here.

I don't remember anyone discussing Vietnam. But no matter.

The point made is you may consider Putin crushing Ukraine as being "inevitable". But allowing Putin do to Ukraine what Hitler did to Poland and consider where does that stop? Who's next "to be "crushed" as you euphemistically put it.

There's a lot of talk about racism, and some of it seems to be e.g. "...we've never seen this before in a civilised country" 🙄, But things hit closer to home the closer they are to home and the more one has in common with those it's happening to. Yemen is over 6,000 km from Dublin, Israel 4000 km, Ukraine just over 2000 km. Throw in the cultural (and, yes, racial) similarities and the fact that this war has the potential to take us all out with it, and you've got a conflict that's going to shock more and attract more interest.

It works in the same way that a death in your family hits closer than a death in your street, which in turn hits closer than a death in your town, etc. This is why, for example, Irish media report fatal traffic accidents in Ireland, but not those in other countries.

I suspect this its what's driving a lot of the comments about that have been criticised, but definitely not all of them. Some people are just choosing their words very badly.

This is the kind of post thats causes a reaction ,

Everyone is entitled to an opinion we might not like what others have to say or how they say it ,but they still have a say

Being effectively kicked off YouTube is not censorship, it's a decision by a private entity on who gets to choose who can and can't use their platform.

Aren't they a Nato Country? If they enter and Russia attacks in retaliation. Then Nato will be obliged to defend Poland. An attack on one is an attack on all. They won't take that chance for Ukraine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,235 ✭✭✭Pussyhands

It's mad that people like you read a comment like that and think I am gleeful of a nazi regime.

I could say Ireland are going to be hammered by New Zealand in the rugby world cup...would that mean I'm gleeful at the prospect of it happening?

Read my comments, you're a disgrace with your slander.

    Excellent video alright.

War these days is only ever about money. Usually oil/gas money or access to it. Never about ideology. I imagine there are many many people in senior Russian strategic circles that would endorse Putin's decision wholeheartedly.

    Fúck them.

The rate their journalists are resigning they won't have staff to run RT.

Will just be a loop of Vlad topless on a horse for a finish.

Reading some sites here is the air field been used, could be given diplomatic privilege and be considered Ukrainian tertiary.

I've no idea how that would be possible or even true.

The International Skating Union (ISU) have suspended Russian and Belarusian skaters from participating in all international ice skating competitions, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

On a side note, as I am sure many are aware, if this drags on, threads like this will fill up with anti-Western critics, cranks, Putin apologists, etc. They are keeping relatively "quiet" for now or masking it, but all the bile will come out.
