Vodafone FTTH/Siro - Firewall Issues

Hi all,

We've been having a lot of issues with Vodafone broadband delivered over Siro for a number of months. Long story short, it looks like the default and apparently non-configurable firewall is constantly dropping legit outbound connections to the likes of Google, Microsoft etc. This results in disruptions throughout the day and Vodafone have been less than helpful. See one example of thousands below:

Two questions if anyone has any ideas or suggestions; is there any way to change the firewall settings on the Gigabox other than completely disabling it, or is there any recommended third party replacement device such as a Fritzbox which would also allow the landline to be active?

All or any suggestions are welcome, as Vodafone have replaced the modem and the issues persisted regardless.

I know it's an old thread, but did you get it sorted? I'm having the exact same issue , replaced the router etc....

I have even turned off the firewall and it's still dropping it :(

If you replace it with a Fritz you might be able to enable PPPoE passthrough in the internet settings and then just plug the Gigabox's WAN port into it (with its WiFi disabled to reduce interference). If that didn't work, you'd need to get a small network switch to run the two devices side by side. If you use the Vodafone phone service you can't completely replace the Gigabox.

Yeah I ended up having buying a separate router and just bypass the gigabox completely. Very useless box
