Cleopatra's Affairs with Roman Emperors

I was just thinking to myself, as I sipped on a honey drink to cure my cold...

Could Jesus be Cleopatras son, whisked away to be adopted by poor parents, when Cleopatra and her family were killed by Emperor Octavian?

I think Cleopatra was having an affair with Marc Anthony at the time.

I believe Cleopatra tried to change her face to look like a Cat.

    Cata-combs etc.

More commonly known as Mark Antony. I wonder why Shakespeare called his play Antony and Cleopatra? The man's family name and the woman's given name.

I watched Carry On Cleo a number of times and there was no sign of Jaysus in it.

No, ~30 year gap between the two events

    Prove IT

I think the various Roman Calendars could explain the 30 year gap, never mind the dubious nature of the stories...

I don't think the Romans had a Higgs Boson Atomic Clock, back then

Tell us more about these "various Roman calendars" that have discrepancies of 30 years or more from one another. Otherwise we might think you were just pulling stuff out of your arse, and you wouldn't want that, would you?

Romours of her beauty and affairs are thought to be made up. She was more politically motivated and the affairs were just agreements. Lots of common history knowledge is actually wrong. All you have to do is read a news paper now on events you know well. They don't add up but the news paper's record is seen as historical fact.

No Jesus wasn't her son and it would make no sense

You’re thinking of Star Wars OP

No OP Jesus was Irish and here's the proof....

He never got married, he lived with his parents until he was 33, he never held a steady job, he went out drinking with his pals the night before he died, his last request was a drink, he thought his mother was a virgin, and she bless her thought he was God.

Cleopatra died in 30BC, the earliest Jebus is acknowledged to have been born was 6BC.

Cleopatra died in 30BC. the roman emperor at the time of Jesus's birth was Caesar Augustus. This is mention in Luke 2

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.

Caesar Augustus was the great-nephew and adopted son of Julius Caesar and did not become emperor until 27BC. so the earliest possible birth date for Jesus is 27BC, 3 years after the death of Cleopatra. Therefore Cleopatra could not be the mother of Jesus.

None of you seem to be taking the ‘Phantom Time Hypothesis’ into account.

“It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be” - A. Dumbledore

“It is not blood that makes you Irish but a willingness to be part of the Irish nation” - Thomas Davis

And to correct the thread title Cleopatra did not have affairs with roman emperors. Neither Julius Caesar or Mark Anthony were emperors. Caesar was a dictator but he was not an emperor.

I'm sure I'm going to regret saying this but that hypothesis doesn't hold water. Observations of solar eclipses show it to be incorrect.

Unlikely. It is well known that Cleopatra (what a nose!) sent her son to a small, Gaulish village for protection. And his adopted parents were a small, yellow mustachioed fella, and a large menhir delivery man (whose chest had slipped a bit), not Mary and Joseph.

Is Dan Brown off his meds and posting in After Hours again?

Oh sure, you can use logic, and facts, to disprove anything.

But the entire village were drug addicts. So may not be reliable witnesses.

His father was a Roman General called Naughtius Maximus.

The Romans were Notorious for each Emperor creating their own new Calendar, Thus dates at ths time in history cannot be relied upon to be precise. The Bible is not a precise measurement of time. See Wikipedia for a full list of Calendars for the previous 3000 years, hundreds... Egyptian, Julian, Gregorian etc.

To get back to my point, I always wondered why everything in the Catholic Church is connected to the word "Cat", an animal Cleopatra was obsessed with, "Catholic", "Catacombs", "Catechism", etc...

I know the Bible is a bestseller, but has anybody even considered reading the story "Superman 1"?

Jesus, (I mean Superman), had his aristocratic parents killed by their arch nemesis in a natural "Cataclysm", but before his parents were killed, they sent the baby in a wicket pod to a different planet, to be adopted by poor parents.

the gregorian calendar was created by Pope Gregory in 1582. Nothing to do with the romans. The romans only used 2 calendars. originally it was a lunar calendar but this was replaced by the julian calendar. each emperor did not create their own calendar. In fact no emperors created a calendar as Julius Caesar was not an emperor. The first emperor was his grandnephew Augustus Caesar. Augustus did not create any calendars.

Just because words begin with a single syllable word it doesn't mean they share linguistic similarities. We should invent a way for people to google this.

The Superman story also has parallels with Moses, wicker basket floating across the giant river of space (an then there are the Jewish immigrant themes of moving to another world where they become stronger).

Because it was a papish invention the Protestant countries resisted the Gregorian calendar. Not used in England and Ireland until 1752.

The argument that Cleopatra was not Jesus' mother seems to be based on a 30 year error in overlapping Calendars.

Remember, there are multiple civilizations involved, all with their own Calendars, Greek, Egyptian and Roman.
