A few of my cards were cancelled this week, mostly physical cards, I had been given forewarning last year in an email.

We’ve been working hard to improve your card payment experience and we've made some changes behind the scenes. To make sure your card benefits from these changes, we need you to replace your existing physical cards.

What changes have they made ?

I'm still on the loan 'wait-list' so mustn't be live for everyone yet

Likewise. The APR mentioned above is the same as Avant so I don't see the advantage.

Just got a scam text from what I imagine is a spoofed Revolut number saying my account is blocked and to follow a link to unblock

Got this too, all my physical cards. Had to reorder cards for free

The plastic back of my visa card with the magnetic strip and the ccv number has peeled off the card completely. Is replacing the damaged card at my own expense?

    This too shall pass.

Have you had it long? You might get email in coming days saying it has to be replaced for free, I've had my cards since 2018 and 2019 and got email today that they're all getting replaced and I have to order replacement for free. My brother got this same email a few days ago

Sorry, if this was already asked....(the search feature in Boards is muck!). Is there any easy way for me to transfer money from my AIB account to Revolut without using that stupid bloody card reader?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,548 ✭✭✭Gadgetman496

I transfer from AIB to Revolut all the time without needing the card reader, I have my AIB card setup in Google Pay if that makes a difference.

OK thanks. That's good to know. But whenever I tried that, I keep getting this error message...

    Works now!

Edit: The transaction went through as pending, but 20 mins later it said it was declined in Revolut!

Go to add money then input your AIB debit card details. It should go through right away.

I was originally trying to add €150 when I was getting the errors. I tried €80 and it worked. Not sure if there is any limit?

I got that as well, 100 wouldn't get added but 30 did.

Had similar issues recently, not sure why.

It's so needy these days. Never ends with its updates and nonsense. + the app size is outrageous. It used to just be an nice small sized functional app, now just issues and updates with bells and whistles on the bells and whistles with more bells and whistles added soon that no one asked for!

I must have a look at how to do that - and I want to block the unimportant notifications, too. I have absolutely no interest in an alert that bitcoin is up, down or sideways 1%.

For the first: scroll down to the end of your feed and it says 'edit feed. Also press and hold the tabs at the top (accounts, stocks, vaults etc) to remove them

For the second, go into your privacy settings and change your marketing preferences

Put an unusual high amount on my revolut card that got flagged and my card frozen a few days ago, i unfroze the card in app and put the transaction through again and it went through no problems, since then no contactless transactions will work on my wife's watch or my kids watch (both have my card on them), i have paid using revolut chip and pin each time the contactless declines and the reason for declining the transactions comes up as "this transaction could not go through due to a poor connection" even though the connection is just fine and its happening in all different shops that it worked fine in before the frozen transaction issue.

anyone experience this before or have any ideas on how to fix this please?

Any chance your contactless transaction button got switched to off ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,276 ✭✭✭Gru

No that is still on, and its no where near any limits, i reset them just in case also

I’m going to the UK for the weekend. I’m planning on just using my phone or physical card to pay for everything while I’m over there. Is that madness or is there a better way, to avoid any possible fees etc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 541 ✭✭✭Cookiee

Exchange your euro to pounds now, on Friday, on the weekends there is a an exchange fee on revolut, other than that revolut is best option to spend pounds from

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 3,841 ✭✭✭Kat1170

Even if you don't exchange your money before the weekend, the added exchange fee is only an extra 1%

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,548 ✭✭✭Gadgetman496

Where in the App is that option to turn on/off contactless transactions?

Under the cards section, select the card you want then select 'pin & security' then make sure 'contactless payments' is switched to on!
