Hi guys. Can anybody tell me if you have to pay for an NCT when booking over the phone?

No but you need to give a card number, this is then billed on the day of the test when it's complete.

I rang them just before Christmas,because I needed a date sooner than what was available on their site..I used my card as usual at the centre.

I booked over the phone a couple of days ago and didn't have to leave any card details.

Haven't booked on the phone, but I had my NCT the other week, booked online and payment taken at time of booking

You can pay in test centre on the day. Beware the phone line can have long wait time so try to avoid peak times such as early morning, lunch time or end of day.
