Hi everyone, that code 9000000 on library.pressdisplay.com doesn't seem to work anymore. Has anyone else experienced the same and maybe figured out the new code to use?

Just join your library, it's free... https://www.librariesireland.ie/elibrary

If you are a library member you can use the libraries WiFi to authorize your Pressreader app to download restricted papers for 5 days. Once set up you don't even have to enter the library to re-authorize. If passing in the car (anytime day or night) just stop outside it for a min, connect to the WiFi and logon to Pressreader. 5 days starts again.

Tried the link in the hope of getting the Library Press Display by Pressreader up and running again. No such luck 😥

Brings me the Pressreader signup page for paid subscriptions of CAD 39.99 which is roughly €28.

Hopefully free access will be restored in the coming days. I really miss it.

I can access it and can look for newspapers but get kicked out of the newspaper if I go to page 2 (or any other page)

Anyone having trouble accessing pressreader through a Dublin City library a/c at the moment. I get "unknown error" when I try to log in.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

They got hacked ~two weeks ago & haven't been quite the same since. I can log in ok but the Irish Times hasn't shown a new issue since.

signed up today using my local library number but there seems to be an issue with the app - only the download and settings tab are viewable for me. maybe there's a verification email to go thru but haven't got it yet

Can anyone access the Irish Examiner on PressReader? If yes, which library?

It used to be available via library.pressdisplay.com and it appears to be still available with a non-library pressdisplay account.

As far as I am aware it is available when connecting through library hotspots and remains available for 5 days. So just reconnect every 5 days.

Irish Times via the UK seems to be gone. Anyone else seeing it? Last issue available is the 3rd of March.

Renegotiating the contract apparently so won't be available until that is sorted.

I emailed pressreader and that's what they said

Bloomberg businessweek seems to be gone, last issue in November

Didn't work using Cork city library wifi/login unfortunately.

Confirmed now that the Irish Times is gone from Pressreader, the publisher has withdrawn it. That means that none of the major Irish papers are now on it, other than possibly the Examiner if you connect via a library branch.

Does anyone know if The Examiner is gone from Pressreader? It hasn't been updated in a few weeks.

    Is Libby gone too?

The numbers I signed up to the library online with during Covid seem to be saying "invalid" now, have they changed everything again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 384 ✭✭pjq

My Libby is working fine, but PressReader is not. Do others have access to PressReader?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,992 ✭✭✭_Whimsical_

Are you using it with the login you got during Covid? I asked another person yesterday and their Libby is no longer working either.

PressReader is working for me with the same login though.

I'm using library card no. that I have had for years. Have you tried logging into your county library? Maybe you need to drop into library with ID and utility bill?
