Dublin Night Run 2022

I did the 5km in Sandymount late last year, wouldn't recommend it.

I had been doing some newly started back Parkruns around this time and really enjoying the distance with PBs most weeks leading up to it and this being my first 5k race (proper) I suppose I was expecting a fast course with a chance to race hard. The start area was rubbish, almost impossible to get going for the first 2 or 3 minutes with participants walking from the front. AFAIR this was on the orders of the race organisers (rolling walking start). The early section of the course was changed at last minute to include a switchback further down a pitch black thin path with a dark bench just perfect to fall over. By the time the race got back up the path to the beach section all the goodness was sapped out of it and I was hardly bothered.

If you are just going for a bit of craic with some friends and a medal at the end its probably going to be a OK.
