ok, I'm back. Just watched the interview with Russian Ambassador. I'd say that in the main she took a fairly even handed approach to both interviews.

I think the preponderance of evidence is against the Russians in this case.

If the Brits decided to make some sort of 'statement' about the Northern Ireland Protocol by amassing 60% of their army along the border, there'd be little sympathy for anyone calling it 'manoeuvres' .

You're right though, their intelligence on Iraq was 'faulty' to say the least. Or misrepresented by Washington, perhaps. But I'd have to say, that in THIS scenario, I'm more likely to support the NATO/UK/US/EU position, than the Russian.

Out of interest, do you think we can EVER believe anything out of UK/US intelligence reports (or the reports of those reports, if you get my drift)? As the UK Ambassador says (quite credibly I suggest), no country is going to put their intelligence assets at risk by revealing them to the world, so finger in the wound type evidence is never likely to be presented.

I'm reluctant to go off-topic but feel that your point in effect putting the west on a par with Russia needs to be answered.

Well, one - just one -reason for believing the UK rather than the Russians is that the Russians invaded Ukraine before and annexed (i.e stole) part of its territory.

Sarah is one of the best interviewers that RTE have... I find her very fair and balanced. She gives all sides a hard time, by saying what the people on the street would like to ask. Too many others in her situation simply ask the question and take whatever rambling response they get - Sarah will stick with the question until it is answered, or until the interviewee has abandoned their credibility through their repeated attempts to avoid answering.

I'd prefer to discuss the matter in hand but if you want to talk about the cover ups, murder of innocent civilians and collusion etc I'd be interested in hearing your opinion of the role played by Sinn Fein/IRA.
