    Hi all,

We are about to commence a new build and thinking about installing the barebones Solar PV and extend this later.

Has anyone imported full kit including battery and inverter for example Sonnen and saved money?

Can a normal electrician install during the build?

    Thanks

    Mike

Import from where? The Sonnen is a premium system and if saving money is your objective I would stay away from it.

For a new build you need a roofer to install the panel brackets (and panels) and an electrician to wire everything up. You can buy everything from midsummer or solartricity or better still get an electrician use their trade account to buy and install on your behalf.

If it is a budget thing, with the way prices are rising for builds at the minute, then just get the brackets and rails fitted and get an electrician to install the cables.

Have a plan as to where you are going to install the equipment and the number and location of the panels so that you know where the brackets are going and the electrician know what cables are needed and where to run them or have ducting in place for the cables.

Go out to the site and see where the sun rises and falls and look at your plans to get an optimum layout.
