was certain there was going to be death, Casey, Marko or maybe Ray at the end feeling utterly demoralised...but surprisingly there wasn't

still a big thumbs from me best British Drama since This is England, and who know's maybe a future series?

I thought it was all a bit Enid Blython, in the end. The guy putting a trained police copper in the airing cupboard like a bold terrier was ridiculous.

Possibly to emphasize his control of her, that help would be so close at hand but she wouldn't take it.

A few clatters of the truncheon wouldn't be long putting a few manners on him💥💥

Bit disappointed by the ending, slightly anticlimactic and felt like thry took the easy option

ya i agree to a point, it was a gritty realistic drama and i expected a gritty realistic ending, but still overall i found it captivating - hope it returns

One of those classic cases of a really good show completely and utterly taken apart by a pathetic ending.

    Final episode was a farce.

I enjoyed it overall but was nearly certain our antihero was going to die in some kind of poignant way

    Yep.....a total anticlimax.

That final episode had more holes in it than a big slice of Swiss cheese.........great acting though.

I was really hoping there was going to be a scene of Chris smacking the **** out of him

Really liked the first esp and it all just fizzed out by the end. Might be better as a movie.

BBC might be looking at it as a luther replacement.

Is it worth a watch? Generally not a fan of BBC output but read some praise for this.

It is well made and Martin very good in it. I just thought it dragged at the end to a weak finish.

yes it is, esp the first two episodes - gripping

Second season commission by BBC. No idea what's the story going to be.

Hardly a surprise....last episode / ending was basically all just a set up, getting ducks in a row, for round 2.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,067 ✭✭✭✭fryup

the Ian Hart character to make a resurrection surely?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 349 ✭✭jo187

Ha yeah, it could get very die hard 2, with Martin getting mixed with another doggy friend who's drugs have been nicked.

Then Martin turning to the camera with his Liverpool accent going "same shite, different toilet".

It was brilliant up until the finale which was a cop out. Will still watch S2 though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,987 ✭✭✭✭siblers

S2 is good so far but it's getting a bit silly.

Some of the plotting might leave a bit to be desired,(Why did Karl’s widow need him to get the drugs from the docks when Casey could just pop along and do it) but what a performance by Martin Freeman. He’s superb.
